For [livejournal.com profile] smurfmatic, but come one come all:

Soulwax - Another Excuse
Freeform Five - No More Conversations (Mylo Remix)
Soulwax - Miserable Girl
Vitalic - La Rock 01
Julien Delfaud, Alex Gopher & Etienne De Crécy - Fast Track
Digitalism - Zdarlight
Daft Punk - Technologic (Digitalism Voyage Remix)

I've begun to apprehend that Digitalism tracks don't really build because they think that's the DJ's job, or something, i.e. the first several minutes of "Zdarlight" aren't actually wasted. It's all about context. I never really got the Daft Punk track before (I think Ced always liked it) but "Tech-no-lo-gic, tech-no-lo-gic" at 4AM on the dancefloor becomes this transcendent thing as is accompanied by the first sustained synth sound one hears in fifteen minutes of bzzzt-squelch and cowbells. And then the guitar comes in and up up up until the bassline falls back down on one's head like a sandbag.

Like a dumbass, I was going to ask you if you had the Alan Braxe remix of Heartbeat and then I remembered that I bought like the SECOND single just so I could have it. *is so lame*

I think it's b/c I like Daft Punk. Besides being good to the ears, it was one of the first electro bands I got acquainted to, through the sophisticated music kids from the time I was in CEGEP... I'm still looking for that album they released a few years ago, and which contained Aerodynamic.. It was "Discovery", and the fine thing about Discovery were the music videos for the first four tracks, which were made into a story (a bit like Faye Wong's first 5 tracks of Fable), of an alien music band being abducted by another alien race for their musical talent, and "remodelled" into the other race. I had that too at some point, on Tacos - I think I even burnt you a copy. So if you have it...

I have them, but I've never been able to get them to play with sound on my computer for some reason. Nullifies the whole purpose. XD

I've got the Braxe version of "Heartbeat", can up it for you tomorrow. None of the remixes are as good as the original anyway. XD
