TRF - Boy Meets Girl (12" Club Mix)
For
two_if_by_sea. Haven't I posted this? It feels like I have. With every iteration of the Kamio Mix I would debate using this mix instead of the "Da! Da! Da!" anime one only to nix the idea in the end because it's obviously in the wrong stylee for that context. But I love it just as much - the tom toms, the cantering major-to-minor bassline, the children's chorus. It's so damned happy. I still have two TRF albums to play out and see if they did anything else quite as good as this (I know they have, but further surprises are always nice).
Just so I can close a Firefox tab: James Murphy aka LCD Soundsystem rips into whiny fan, wins Internet in process. The thread runs two pages. Personally I loathe the words "selling out" as applied to pretty much anybody. It's like comparing people on the Internet to Hitler: no, sir, you are the one who loses. (I grant a bare minimum of relevancy if the artist had previously expressed disdain for "sellouts" and that s/he would never do so, but in that case it was the artist who employed the term first, so s/he made an arse of hirself first.)
