Bed at three, up at six thirty, got on plane, slept for five hours and stared out the window for two and arrived in Montreal at eleven in the morning local time. Went through contents of suitcase and photos with family, had a late lunch, called Tania - then biked to the post office, ironically enough as I said I needed to rest but only sunlight helps with jetlag, and I had to pick up my mail (
chirachira's Bleach doujinshi and the Mirage of Blaze prequels). Then showered and had dinner. Now I'm well and truly wiped but still have to rip the pile of CDs I bought in Europe so I can actually listen to them.
CD Singles
Skye Sweetnam - Billy S. [b-side much better but tragically copy-protected]
Pussycat Dolls featuring Busta Rhymes - Don't Cha [this song is so wrong]
Franz Ferdinand - Do You Want To [didn't have time to get the fancypants UK version]
t.A.T.u. - All About Us [b-side not worth mentioning]
Freemasons feat. Amanda Wilson - Love On My Mind [saw the video 3,000 times on Flemish MTV countdown.
surlykitty actually upped the radio edit right before I left but I didn't have time to dl, which only goes to show]
CD Albums
Dimitri From Paris - Cruising Attitude [kept me sane while packing, wish I could've listened to it on the plane for reals]
TRF - This Is The Truth
TRF - Unite
TRF - EZ Do Dance [these I didn't buy, cis got them in Japan for me which was lovely of her]
Soulwax - Nite Versions [they're really popular in Belgium]
Mixes/Compilations
2 many djs - As Heard On Radio Soulwax Pt.2 [finally my own copy zomg. btw how is there a cover of "Joe le taxi" with Jurgen Paape and some wispy-voiced Japanese girl, I can't make this stuff up]
Fabric 13 Michael Mayer [exactly as awesome as cis said]
Fabric 17 Akufen [both from the vending machine in actual Fabric. as well as functional given they have to be dropped through the vending machine it turns out the metal CD cases match the toilet stalls in the club; industrial design joygasm of sorts]
Kompakt Total 6 [which cis burned me]
Electric Kingdom - ElektronischeLieder [Europe not really good for buying schtuff you could get in Montreal for less, but v. good for random consignment bin dance compilations that have the original version of "Oldschool, Baby" and Moguai remixes of 2raumwohnung on them, say]
Kenzo Takada Music - Sensation Pourpre (Voyage musical vol.1) [random compilation that manages to take a number of v. good songs and make them sound like cheesy chillout in juxtaposition]
Vinyl
Etienne Daho - Tombé pour la France (single) [has a duet with Françoise Hardy in]
Animotion - Obsession (single) [I just had to]
The Human League - Travelogue
It's probably all electrodance because I was mostly listening to acoustic schtuff while I was there.
Friends, Montrealers, countrymen (i.e.
dipping_sauce and
smurfmatic) - meet me tomorrow after work? I can probably get off by 5PM. This way I'll only have to schlepp chocolates and sundry souvenirs once, not to mention recount anecdotes as I'm nursing a cough again and my throat really isn't up to telling the same story more than once. ^^; (Lola, I have something for you too, whenever you can.)
