Upon reviewing the plot I'm forced to conclude that Rufus is the most intelligent person in the movie. Saying that seems a bit of an insult though... to Rufus. Faint praise as it were.

Other than that, real shiny. I watched it without subs (too impatient to install a new player) but it was pretty easy, I doubt I missed anything. Had fun comparing it to the version I saw before: some differences in dialogue and lighting, and I think a number of the plotty scenes were actually shortened for pace. What they seem mostly to have been working on between then and now were gravity-defying battle sequences. :DDD And it cleared up all sorts of things I've always wondered about the FF7 universe, such as:

• How people wear "ribbons"
• What size materia are (bigger than I thought... shit, I have to rewrite my story!)
• Where Cloud keeps his swords
• What Sephiroth clones really are good for

...and so forth. A pity it's kind of too dumb to fic for. XD;;;; I mean I could write how Tseng and Elena braved torture and escaped teh clutches of the Sephiclones but I might start laughing and that wouldn't be conducive to the process.

Didn't expect the Aeris-and-Zack-go-walking-off-into-sunset thing, thought it was rather a nice touch. :D Although the expression on Cloud's face made me think abruptly and hilariously of the confused gayboi in C.R.A.Z.Y. hung up on his hawt cousin and hawt cousin's boyfriend and hawt cousin's boyfriend's marijuana. Speaking of which does nonchibi!Zack remind anyone else of Ren out of Nana, or is it just me?

(The wolf confused me. "Did Aeris have a dog? No, wait, it was Rinoa who had a dog. ...?!?")

Cloud gets an incurable disease, he doesn't tell anyone, stops taking calls, goes off into the wilderness and waits for death while wangsting about being unforgiven. Rufus gets an incurable disease, he enters terminal drama queen mode and wheelchairs everywhere with a blanket over his head (narrowly passing over the bridal gown à la Miss Haversham as Chrissie once suggested). WTF HE DIDN'T EVEN NEED A WHEELCHAIR HE COULD JUMP OFF BUILDINGS FINE.

The casting director did a great job, at least IMO. I don't think there was a single character who didn't sound eerily close to the way they do in my head, even the quirkier ones like Red XIII or Reeve. And Yuffie cracked me up. "Sexual discrimination! SEXUAL DISCRIMINATION!"

But man, just watching Reno and Rude go. That was worth all the clandestine downloading in the world.

re: wolf. Personally I think it's Zack, before he was taken form at the end o_o it first pops up at the buster sword (the location where Zack died), and pops up wherever there is significant presence where Aeris was/had been to. Insert His Dark Materials daemon joke here.

ROFL. I was so disappointed when his eye wrap floated off. I was expecting a gaping black hole, or something along those lines, but no. Most attractive disease ever. -_-;;

The small touches made the movie for me: Cloud's matching earrings and pin. Reno and Rude trying to leave the room when Tifa is yelling at Cloud. XD The only thing I really missed were the Chocobos. I only saw a quick reference to a Chocobo farm, but no birds. Given the hours spent breeding the damn things in the game, it would have been nice to have seen a few feathers.

LOL! I nearly fell out of my chair laughing when I read your comment about drama queen Rufus. Mind you, I don't know as much about the games as some of you, since I only got to play it a few minutes at a cousin's house, and then only the beginning to see what the game was like, how it played, how difficult it was, but I did read up a lot on info found on the internet. And I agree, Reno and Rude were just plain cute. I found it kinda funny when Cloud just slammed the door on Reno.

Oh, and random fangirl moment: Zack is pretty! *.*
