Reading Trinity Blood
Jun. 20th, 2005 09:33 pmHalfway through ROM 2, The Iblis (Japanese title is "The Angel of the Sands", though isn't Iblis a demon? Err I'm sure all discrepancies will be sorted in time). The scene moves to Tunis Carthago Carthage. My thoughts on these chapters are as follows:
OH NO NOT THE MIDICHLORIANS AGAIN.
...Other than that, wow, weird Catholic-ized recounting of the Elissa myth. Hopefully no Berber tribes will decide Esther is the second coming of Dido of Carthage, that would just be cheesy. And nice that the Imperial vampires have a cultural emphasis on partnership trust-bonds, gives them an extra touch of humanity. ^^;

Date: 2005-06-21 06:19 am (UTC)I've been only exposed to the anime but I kinda like it - even though they set our prettiest church on fire in Ep. 3-4. XD o_O;;
If only the Hellsing vs. Chrno Crusade flashbacks would stop.no subject

Also the fansubbing is kind of screwy - I tried two groups and it comes to the same, they obviously have the novels in front of them but that's not enough, you have to be able to parse katakana into about eight different languages to sub it properly. ^^;;
Trinity Blood does for Europe what Mirage of Blaze does for Japan, i.e. much abuse of real-life historical monuments and everyone spouting Church Latin, although they sort of took that part out in the anime. I like it, I have to say. XD
