Current Fandoms: Mirage of Blaze, like it is not glaringly obvious. Bleach. Trinity Blood. Viewfinder probably counts, in the sense that I end up discussing it with people a lot. Uhh... other anime series I'm currently watching are Initial D and Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex.
First Fandom: How on earth do you define that? x_x I mean, I read some fic for LotR post-movie, but I've been a fan of the books since I was nine, so does that count? First fanart fandom was David Eddings (I did a number of scenes from the Malloreon in comic format. I wasn't even a manga or a regular comic reader at that point, I just liked to draw. Still do). First fandom in which I interacted with other fans was X-Files - offline, of course, all my friends from HS were rabid and bought episode guides and discussed the mythology and marathoned episodes. First semi-participating online fandom was rec.arts.sf.written.robert-jordan (Usenet!). First fic-reading/writing fandom was Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles back when people in said fandom called it "spec fic" and not "fan fic", and the Ricester actually encouraged the ficcers instead of shutting them down. First anime fandom was Slam Dunk.
Most Recent Fandoms: How is this different from "current" fandoms? It's not like I ever leave a fandom. ^^;
Five Fandoms That Mean A Lot To Me:
1) X-Files. I bet the vast majority of y'all don't remember that the word "shipper" was made up by Mulder/Scullyists. After XF jumped the shark I basically stopped watching TV, because no other show lived up to it.
2) Slam Dunk. When I got back from Shanghai I had the shakes so bad I borrowed 200$ off my best friend so I could order the manga and find out what happened. At the point I'd never had more than 20$ cash in my pocket at once; an equivalent level of craziness for me now would be blowing $2000 on drugs and whores.
3) Vagrant Story. After 1) and 2) I could list a lot of fandoms in parallel, but this one is both admittedly minor and rather distinct from the others. I think what I want is for Squeenix to hire me to write the novelisation of the game, plus prequel and sequel.
4) GetBackers. See my Aesthe review, my fic, my... The series is love.
5) Mirage of Blaze. It really doesn't get any Spwecial-er, does it. ...I'm looking at the lj entry I made when I watched the first episode of the anime (18/02/02), which was as soon as it came out and was fansubbed - I am almost certain I downloaded the entire 100+ MB file over my glacial home dial-up connection frommithas's then-blog. (Thanks, mithas! I didn't realise you were the same person until five minutes ago! XD;;;) The odd thing is - I mean you've all watched it - nothing actually happens in the first episode. It just felt like taking in all of Zetsuai at a gulp. I watched it three times and spent the rest of the week compulsively listening to 80s pop, which only goes to show.

Why is it that some people have five songs in the meme but some have six? x_x And isn't this, like, what I do every week anyway? Well, here're this week's FWIW:
1) Goldfrapp - UK Girls (Physical): if this were classical music it would be called "Variations on a Theme by Olivia Newton-John".
2) La Casa Azul - En noches como la de hoy: frommoderntime's Modapop compilation, which now that I've had a chance to listen to it I am seriously ♥-ing. Shooby-dooby whoo-oh in Spanish!
3) Röyksopp - Circuit Breaker: am liking this album more and more. It was a mistake to think of it as a coherent album in a single style to be listened to from end to end, like Melody.AM; it's more like one Ibiza dancepop track, one Tears For Fears song, one Kosheen song, one Annie ballad, one Erlend Øye side project collab... This one v. v. sexy, and probably fun to breakdance to.
4) Susheela Raman - Nagumomo: my favorite track off both albums, I think. There's a duet version of this with Cheb Mami I'm really curious to hear.
5) Niyaz - Nahan: Six Degree Records again, for all you Bebel fans - this album is hott.
6) Ethan - In My Heart (Radio Edit): according to Audioscrobbler (everything else I've posted). Fromsurlykitty. I... I need a full version. *weeps*
