I feel lame. I wanted to work on fic over the weekend too! ...But instead I did things like organise and relabel my Lee Jung Hyun mp3s. ._. Also I watched Yukikaze 3-4 and the last batch of GitS:SAC 2nd Gig episodes I had lying around (I think I share Motoko's conflicted reaction ahaha - "Benevolent world dictator, um... no. Kind of hot, though."). Forgot to look for the raw of Trinity Blood ep.3, so the trauma will have to wait.

[livejournal.com profile] tongari: Alef [Trinity Blood | Abel, Tres] For obvious reasons [1] I am kind of terrified of reading Trinity Blood fic, but what the hell, all it takes is a good writer, right? Right. (Bonus saabisu: [livejournal.com profile] tongari's art of Rei from Yukikaze, and Rei-in-Yukikaze. :D)

[livejournal.com profile] starlighter: Strange Fish [GitS:SAC 2nd Gig | Saitou/Pazu] Following upon the events of episode 15 (the Pazu backstory-of-sorts ep).

[livejournal.com profile] sesame_seed: You Are Born And He Is Two [Initial D | Ryousuke, Keisuke] Chrissie, am I mad or did you just never say anything about this or post it on LJ? o_o [2]

...Something we have learnt today: Sabina cannot write rec blurbs.

[1] Because there are tons of details in the books that the anime shrugs and leaves out (ex. Tres's guns have a model name - Jericho M13 'Dies Irae'), because what else is it to do, and other places where it messes with stuff for no real good reason. Like how Eris the street kid in ep.2 is fourteen not seven, and acts more like my 14-yr-old fanon!Schuldig than, uh. Basically she bullies Abel mercilessly. ♥ I kind of want to make a post listing the changes and omissions, but I get the feeling at some point one just has to throw one's hands up and call it a day.

[2] I suppose I should sign up for FicWad but the one-word rating system terrifies me. ^^; It's not how I relate to the things I read at all (i.e. I wouldn't be able to rate stories that way), and I suspect I'd feel increasingly uncomfortable with being rated as a writer that way myself.

XD;;; Errr, you found it!

Wrote it for bp a few months back and didn't like it; pulled it out last week to edit and decided it would be nice to have SOMETHING on FicWad that couldn't be found in a cooler style on lj. ^^"

Actually, I'm getting fond of FicWad. The upload process is much quicker and more versatile than ff.net's, and it doesn't randomly steal away your slashes and asterisks and symbols. The one problem I have with it at the moment is that the categories are too narrow; there are a great deal of stories that aren't sci-fi/horror/drama/romance/angst/etc -- was stumped when I reached the IniD ficlet, for instance. XD (It's romance in my head, but then, everything involving those characters is romance in my head. XD)

The rating system isn't all that useful as a feedback device -- not sure why they didn't stick to stars -- but it's kind of fun to use? And requires less effort than an actual review. Would be nice if you could pick your own adjectives, though.

I'd recommend e-mailing the admin about the genres and the rating system, actually. I was the one who suggested the inclusion of "drama" in the list of genres -- otherwise you would have had to label the fic as a romance. XD The rating system has its limitations, though I think that more people have to start using it before it can be specifically overhauled and defined.

Obligatory disclaimer: [livejournal.com profile] suntyger, the admin, is a friend of mine.

The genres I just assumed was the same as FFN, me (not that the FFN genres aren't frustrating - just the addition of "introspection", "character study" and "fluff" would help greatly. Hmm, now that I think about it I should make the suggestion, I couldn't pin down what I was looking for before XD).

EEE, chrissie! you should have posted it~~~~! (I swear, you are a harsher judge than any of us. ;_; think of all the fic you're depriving us! WOE.) ♥ the fic, if you couldn't tell. It didn't scream cars and racing at me (which is a good thing, probably) and the ryousuke/keisuke is beeeeeautiful. *_*

I'm not sure what I think of that system either -- at the very least would like to be able to choose more than one of the words! (Like, say, a fic I tried out the rating/review system on, which I would have rated both Hot and OOC.) It seems worth a try as a central location, though. I mean, it's not as if I gave much credence to reviews on ff.net either. (But they amused me. Oh, heavens, did they ever amuse me.)
