Not at all from Osaka, far's I can tell. Which leaves general Japanese heritage as the only commonality between them (apart from the fact that I think Oshitari's going to med school, but that's just me).
*snerks* Well, mirichan pointed you his roles there. Hmm, he played the main character's dad on AishiBaby (couldn't believe it. Could NOT believe it). A loud, but soooo nice Kansai junior highschooler on Whistle! (an unsexy version of Oshitari? Wait... Shige CAN be sexy too...). One of the male main characters on Peach Girl (calm, cool, aloof). A very angsty guy on Gunslinger Girl.
Actually, the first time I heard him as Tenma, I screamed in disbelief. ^^;;;;
