Comme la neige a neigé

It's been snowing in intervals since Friday. Platonic ideal snow: big fluffy flakes that fill the air and float to earth under their own weight, that cling to road signs and eyelashes. Snow globe snow, Christmas snow. Imaginary snow as it were, until the annual advent of snow-related drama, everything from ritual feuding between City Hall and the unionized snow removal teams to having to help the neighbour dig her car out from a snowbank because she separated from her husband and cannot be arsed to do man-about-the-house chores (...>_<). But it is very pretty, and I took pictures that I will post tonight.
In other news, it turns out that the letter did not get lost - I really am not on the list for that $3000 bursary from the provincial government. Since I completed my degree well within the required timeframe, and was a Quebec resident the entire time, there are only two reasons why this could be:
1) Someone screwed up in CS dep't/registrar/admissions and didn't send my name in.
2) Unfortunately rather more likely: I'm disqualified due to taking a minor that no one is insane enough to take in conjunction with CS, and/or because I completed too many credits for my programme. IOW am being penalized for being an over-achiever again, I say "again" because if you're an Azn academic over-achiever you've probably had something of the kind happen to you at least once.
Ass WILL be kicked, no doubt about it. I mean, $3000, that's my entire BUDGET for Europe next March.
...Speaking of which, Europe next March. My home base will be Antwerp. Who's going to be around?
