Now that I'm "allowed" to post again, I can't think of anything to say. ^^; Apart from the fact that I have to write the Pixies concert report and, I dunno, fic... I also vaguely want to make a cumulative Mirage of Blaze rant re how the BL angst in these books is incredibly frustrating to wade through, as I realised - I think - about fifty pages into Saiai no anata e that most of the obstacles to Naoe getting Takaya into bed exist purely in Naoe's head, as Takaya himself is a total pushover on the level of teenage!Subaru, not that the real problem between them has anything to do with sex or lack thereof. And also that Kuwabara is out to get me by sticking in what I keep parsing as throwaway references to my shounen series fandoms. But... yeah. XD;;

Did not buy the Rachid Taha album yet, in fact; blew my cash on the new Afrika Bambaataa album and the Mylène Farmer remix album instead. But I really needed me some dance music.

Afrika Bambaataa - Got That Vibe: THE ZULU NATION COMMANDS YOU TO SHAKE YOUR BOOTY LIKE A POLAROID PICTURE.

Afrika Bambaataa feat. Gary Numan - Metal: Gary Numan. Gary. Numan. Picture the strip club scene in Lost In Translation, turn the girls into sleek Geiger droids and dub in this in lieu of Peaches.

Mylène Farmer - Pourvu qu'elles soient douces (Paul Oakenfold Remix): I like this better than the original, which is saying a lot, as the original is one of my favorite 80s synthpop songs of all time (and let's not mention the video - I'd kill for an avi of it, but it'd be like 200MB at the going rate of compression). It's not even the remixed instrumentals per se, as the fact that Oakenfold rejigged the structure of the song to make it somewhat more conventional. ^^; I always wanted an mp3 of the video edit without the repetitive outro.

Mylène Farmer - Je t'aime mélancolie (Felix Da Housecat Remix): and FdH just treated this as if it were a Miss Kittin spoken-word vocal, which is... fine, really. XD He picked the right song to work with.

And, because this is the 1001st post or whatever, still landmark time:

Pet Shop Boys - Being Boring

For anyone who hasn't heard it yet, a song to live by. (One of two PSB songs that made me cry, the first time I heard it.) And play at one's funeral, I think many of my flisters would say.

The next music post will be the Hyoutei Eurotrash Disco Porn Mix depressing Christmas pop songs, as it's December already. <3 If you want a head start, though, Music For Robots posted a Death Cab for Cutie cover of a depressing Phil Spector Christmas pop song. Have you ever looked at something and thought, "Wow, this could only exist because someone up there likes me"? ...Ben Gibbard needs to stop haunting me, though. XD

Can I make a suggestion for this? Jann Arden's Make it Christmas Day would fit the bill. (The jist of it is "Pray for Jesus, today was his birthday, bitches!")

I'll bring the CD tomorrow so you can give it a listen :D
