1) Nice extended Batman trailer there! Heart-stopping action, incomprehensible plot due to my utter inability to understand a single word out of Tom Hardy's mouth (at least, where I kind of assume his mouth is). This may be a problem in the long run. Also, I guess at some point I should probably watch The Dark Knight, huh.

2) Is it just me, or is this a VERY SHORT special secret ops team? Like, as far as I could tell, Cruise and Pegg and Renner are all genuinely about the same size, which size is VERY SHORT.

3) Relatedly, this is a v. good action movie (we just rewatched Die Hard, it being recently Christmas, hence I'm inclined fondly toward setpieces revolving around the structural components of skyscrapers). So don't take it as a slight on its action-movie calibre when I say that sometimes when I was meant to be thinking "OMG heart-stopping action!" I was thinking more along the lines of, "Does Jeremy Renner do kettlebell exercises or was he born with that posterior view?"

4) In your opinion, Jeremy Renner:

a) does kettlebell exercises
b) was born with that posterior view
c) say what you like about Tom Cruise but dude is no slouch in that dept as well

5) MI films have self-destructing properties insofar as my memory is concerned. I'm pretty sure I watched the first in theatres, back when it came out, but remember nothing of the plot; may not have watched the second at all; and actually recollect about half of the third (was probably on a plane or something). That being said, I don't remember enough to know whether the MI4 ending is a retcon, or if one is meant to know all along that Hawkeye Agent Brandt was angsting for nothing. XD;; Add the European crypto-terrorists and there's more than one semi-intentional Die Hard homage in this thing, isn't there?

I had to read this out loud to the spouse; fantastic.

4) (a) and (b), and I cannot think about Tom Cruise in a sexual manner anymore so cannot comment on (c). Now I wonder if Paula Patton towered over everyone else, especially in heels?

I am trying to remember now - it seems that she should have been taller in heels, yes. XD But they were doing the usual camera tricks.

Wow, that was quick:

Christopher Nolan has reworked Tom Hardy's audio in the new Batman film The Dark Knight Rises after critics complained that Batman's enemy Bane was inaudible.
