Arf, if they are going to push the warehouse training session back the least they could do is inform the participants, so I do not go walking into a random client meeting OMGWTF. x_x

...Anyway. I'm pathetically glad to have finished writing that last MoB-related entry. XD It was eating at me; probably not apparent just from looking at my lj entries, but if you talked to me on MSN this week you got an extensive MoB rant. If you talked to me twice, you got two rants. That's the kind of fandom week it was. Anime aside, post chapter 3 the UST in book 5 thickens enough to stand a spoon in. Back to the X-Files fandom again (not that I appear to have escaped it ever ahaha), but I am INCREDIBLY weak against scenes of bumming-around-in-hotel-room-late-at-night-discussing- wacky-esoterica. Perhaps I secretly think the perfect relationship is all about... attending conventions together?

That can't be right.

(Hayami Sho in interview, possibly funnier than Seki was: "The hotel room scene. You know the one I mean. ...It's the hotel I always stay at when I'm in Kyoto. So during recording everyone was doing their thing, and I was standing there like, my God, is that MY hotel room? It's my hotel room! :O")

Completely unrelatedly, does any other child of the eighties remember mpreg gag episodes on the Cosby Show? x_x

...i can't believe i've never asked you if you watched Millennium. just once, i want someone other than my sister to say yes. XD

I didn't! Alas! Saw like two eps. I think my schedule conflicted or something.

yeah, they scheduled it at a kinda bad time, i think. XD Friday nights at 7pm CST, here. i don't know if it was the same for you.

my sister was a big X-Files fan, but both she and i liked Millennium better. that is, until it started to suck, because in the 3rd (and final) season, they decided to make it more like X-Files and give the main character a female partner in profiling to contradict his every move and provide "tension". >P

I used to. And then after that season finale where the wife... was like, eh. So... there you go, Janni. XD

yeah, much as Megan Gallagher was annoying, i think her character was necessary. the 3rd season, where they introduced Emma Hollis, pretty much sucked gigantic rocks except for two episodes: "Jose Chung's 'Doomsday Defense'" and "Somehow Satan Got Behind Me."

which pisses me off, because they're actually releasing DVDs of the series now, but of course (as with most TV series), they're only in box sets. so i will have to purchase the 3rd season if i want those two episodes. >.<;;; i shouldn't complain, though---i really thought this show would NEVER see release in any format. i mean, the first two episodes were available as rental laserdiscs, but that's it (and yes, i have a copy of that rental LD. it's the first LD i ever bought, in fact. XD used, for $15 or so. XDXD)

agreed; when they took away Frank's wife and brought in Emma Hollis was when the show went to shit. it's really a pity they tried to make it into another X-Files. *shakes fist at Chris Carter*

Football and sandwich, wasn't it? Like, a loooong sandwich. Was there another one? Because I think three of them were pregnant (father, Theo and... son-in-law?).

And I only remember the one episode, really. There was more than one?

Date: 2004-10-26 03:23 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] petronia.livejournal.com
Come to think of it I only remember the one episode too. But for some reason I operated under the impression there was more than one...

Theo gave birth to a little red sports car.

Date: 2004-10-26 04:02 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] tsutanai.livejournal.com
Because it was too much crack for just one episode? (Ah yes, small sports car. Actually, if that car would grow up to be a proper sports car, does that mean that the football and sandwich would grow up too? The sandwich, okay, can kind of see, but I guess the football's doomed to a tragic early childhood disease, since I really can't see a use for a Worlds' Largest Football. Either way, it's sort of tragic, no?)

Actually as I remember it... well, I guess I wasn't traumatized. Seem unable to work up the trauma now. (Maybe I broke my trauma somewhere. XD)

Your perfect relationship might be a convention... or it might be a conference. XD Actually, if that's your thing, I think you should try watching Trick sometime. XD

It was, indeed, too much crack for one episode. And I remember wondering about the car growing up too. >_> You know, I wasn't traumatised either. In fact I tend to point to it as the reason why mpreg fic does not fundamentally bother me - they did it on the Cosby Show when I was seven, for cripes' sakes! - but that just made people stare at me funny. Hence the query.

From: [identity profile] tsutanai.livejournal.com
Now I'm concerned about the tragic tale of the football. Assuming the car does grow up. (If it doesn't... does that become the tragic tale of the little sports car? Hm.) I mean, the sandwich was plenty big already. (Ah... memories. XD)

Fundamentally bother, I suspect not. But the execution of said tends to be... XD Hey, do you remember the explanation for how the men were able to get pregnant in that dream? I seem to think it was something in the water, but the memory is fuzzy.

And, hey, wasn't the sandwich twin to a 2-liter bottle of soda? XD

(The answer to the people staring at you funny is that obviously they had a deprived childhood. Or are just Too Damn Young. XD)

Yes! And it was something in the water. Noooo it's all coming back. XD;;

People were telling me that they'd come across entirely serious and dramatic mpreg epics. Which I find difficult to imagine, as I've only seen it done gag - the problem is more that the gag gets old after the first few iterations.

From: [identity profile] xparrot.livejournal.com
...oh holy...you know, I've lived for many happy years having no memory of that episode at all. XP
...weren't there muppets? or the slice of bad pizza which caused the dream talked to him? or maybe I'm just on crack...?

I know there are mpregs over the 50 page mark at least, which is rather extended for a gag. find the idea less scary than simply boggling...why?

Date: 2004-10-28 09:18 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] petronia.livejournal.com
Actually I think the muppets and talking pizza come from another dream-sequence episode, not the mpreg one. Which would explain why I remember there being two. XD

I've seen plenty of serious over the years (some done even, not as fanfic, but as... well... not quite transgendered fiction, but you get the general drift). I think Harry Potter fandom is a particular transgressor.

Mostly what irks me is the loving attention spent to figuring out the mechanics of the issue. Honestly, just say its something in the water and get on with it, I should think. XD

Noooo it's all coming back. XD;;

/seriously But someone has to think of the children! tragic little sportscars and footballs. Someone has to!

You know, if we're not careful, I'll end up writing the tragicomical story of the cousins Football, Sandwich, Soda and Tiny Sportscar.

God, is that MY hotel room? It's my hotel room!

lol! Poor guy. Just couldn't face his hotel room the same way ever again.

Perhaps I secretly think the perfect relationship is all about... attending conventions together?

And not having to worry about messy roommates because you're out of there in a few days and housekeeping comes by every day. Gotta love the little things that help keep a relationship sane. :b I suppose Kagetora and Naoe wouldn't have that problem considering the master-dog-thing, but surely it would have gotten on Naoe's nerves to always have to do the dishes!

Date: 2004-10-26 07:11 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] petronia.livejournal.com
Well, I certainly get the impression that they lived out of hotels a lot. :P Somehow I picture them 30 years ago holed up in motel room after motel room fighting their "war"... Although come to think of it, I have no idea where Naoe currently lives per se. Bachelor pad? Temple? Big house with his family?

ya know... I noticed that in the anime Kagetora and gang are always shown hanging out at hotels, while their enemies always show up with _huge_ houses. Now those possessors have their priorities straight when they go looking for a vessel. :b

I rewatched 6 eps yesterday and realised that what they must do is take over the local yakuza.

It would explain the preponderance of basement dungeons in said mansions.
