petronia: (fine time)

I've come to the conclusion that I don't want to post the next Tanabata request fic about as much as I did want to post the last one, which is irrational and ridiculous because, well, request fic. Unclear on the concept, much? Of course I express this passive-aggressively, by not giving myself the time to finish it up. FantAsia's great for this purpose. Twenty movies at least to go:

I haven't got tickets for all of these yet, because I'm still trying to swing free VIP seating. XD Have already missed three films I wanted to see, due to scheduling (like the zombie high school baseball drama, man, shounen sports and zombies! two great flavours that complement each other) or because they sold out (like the Enki Bilal-directed one based on his bédée :O). I also may drop one or two, like Paranoia Agent. I mean yeah it's Satoshi Kon, but if someone sent it to me wouldn't it just sit on top of the tottering pile for a few months...?

Somewhere in there you have: Anno Hideaki directing Iwai "Too Ky00t To Be A Director Dammit, Go Join A Band OH WAIT YOU DID" Shunji in something that appears to be TOTALLY INCOMPREHENSIBLE YAY, Asano Tadanobu in a Thai flick shot by Christopher Doyle who needs plot?, and Vincent Cassel possibly playing a cowboy. Oh, and Matsuda "Pwetty Samurai-chan" Ryuhei in a gakuran. I think he's legal. He's legal, right?

...I pick the films based on director, though. No, really.

Don't mock my fangirlism on my fangirl journal again, or I shall kick you the next time I see you. Remember, unlike most online people, you can't hide from me. :D

Besides that, thanks for the list, I really needed to see another one of these so I can figure which movie to go see myself. The typical ones I usually attend (the weird HK movies) aren't actually existent except the Andy Lau one. Errr. Blah, you're like the 5th person I'm saying this to today but I need to work out that schedule of movies-to-see before the festival ends. :/ I just feel like downloading all of them and watching them at home, that's what I'm feeling like doing. Will sit down and do my homework, see ya in the theater room, hopefully. XD

*LOL* Yup, he's legal. Born on May 1983.

*pauses* Waitaminute... Ryuuhei in gakuran? Is it Blue Spring (Aoi Haru)??? If it is, then gimme the summary after you watch it!!!!

... I'm still looking for that movie. Gah.

Will do. ^^ I suspect it'll be my Japanese Schoolkids Being Horrid To Each Other movie of the year, though (last year's was Lily Chou-Chou, which was brilliant but - down-not-across, much?).

Azumi is probably one worth checking out, if you can; I liked it enough to buy the DVD, at least. Plot differs pretty wildly from the manga, but on its own it's entertaining and the cast is ace (and I don't even like Ueto Aya), though it makes me cry like a bitch every time. XD Plus, you know, monkey ninjas and all that. <3

Please attribute all earlier complaints to the unfortunate fact that I like the sound of my own voice better than anyone else. I really don't want you to be upset on my account, so please disregard my requests. Anyway, the stuff you write on your own is more charming than anything I could think up.

Oh no no no, saints alive, it's not like that (and not your request either XD;;). I should probably make that more clear. It has to do with the fact that when I write quickly, sometimes I get the feeling that my intuition/mouth is running ahead of my logic/brain, and that makes me want to pull back. It's not even that I think the fic is sucky, and I'm certainly not upset with anyone.

... If you can wrangle free tickets to Immortel from Golitzinsky, I want one.

And if he doesn't have any, kick him.

I've only watched one movie from this list but some of the titles are definitely intriguing. Saving Private Tootsie? XD
