Went to see Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind tonight. Thus having been put into the mood for utter-wacko-bizarreness-in-the-name-of-luuurve, translated the second chunk of "Syn" (while playing the Eternal Sunshine Theme over and over. See, Tofuya d00d swore everyone had to download it because one would want to listen to it after the movie, and so I did, and I do! It's the new Amélie waltz! A winner is me!). ...Uh, anyway, doujinshi.

In which Tezuka and Fuji have a combined emotional quotient of LESS THAN NIL, but wanting to violently shake the characters is part of the joy of reading manga and doujinshi. No, really, keep telling yourself that. XD And yes, Tezuka's elbow - this dj is AU for any number of reasons, not least because it came out in winter 2002, but they're talking about how he stress-injured his arm the year before. And it does indeed get weirder. By this point you should begin to apprehend why I have a twisted fondness for "Syn", as it's utter angst most of the way through but I can't stop laughing. ...It's less painful if you take it as METAPHOR, I swear. I mean, this is basically what Fuji tries to do in 218-219, right? Only not so much with the LITERAL METHOD ACTING?

Maybe one day Hojo Akira will write a dj in which Fuji deliberately erases all his memories of Te-OH WAIT SHE'S DONE THAT PLOT ALREADY. SILLY ME.

Akira Hojo makes my brain go BOOM. o_O; Yet, I love her dj so freaking much. ( _ _ ) *hopelessly addicted*

*stares* .... Syn gets wierder and wierder. AH. THE ANGST. @_@

This continues to confirm the idea what Konomi reads Akira Hojo, y0.

I think it's the fact that (unlike 99% of djka) Hojo Akira actually appears to care about canon characterisation somewhat, so one doesn't immediately go "okay total personality transplant whatever haha" when reading her dj (unlike, well, 99% of what's out there). But then Tezuka says something like "I really should've just repressed my feelings for you," and one is like "......*weep*".

And Fuji is all misplaced guilt guilt guiltycakes, so predictably I want to smack him. "He just said he likes you. Mope later, MAKE OUT NOW."

Out of the ones I've read, "Syn" isn't even the one that's most like Konomi's take. But extrapolation-of-characterisation something Hojo Akira does creepily well in general - wait 'til I start on "Neo Venus" and you see how she had Atobe pinned before he'd shown up in canon more than twice.

I'm so confused. Fuji became TEZUKA WTF?

Fuji decides that he's going to brainwash himself into believing he's Tezuka, so as to be able to accomplish all the schtuff that Tezuka can, despite the fact that the real Tezuka is like RIGHT THERE. :D;;; It is a thing of beauty.

*resurrects you because you can't die yet - you haven't yet gotten to the one in which Tezuka develops amnesia from the trauma of his relationship with Fuji falling apart, or the one in which Tezuka drives Fuji away and Fuji goes off bitterly to Hyoutei instead, or the one in which Fuji dates a girl just to fuck with Tezuka's mind, or... yeah.*

Hojo Akira is so speshul. :D

...I still don't get it? I mean, wouldn't Tezuka think it was weird to suddenly have Fuji answering to his name? I mean, on a metaphorical level, yeah, Fuji's trying to become Tezuka, but to call himself Tezuka? Wouldn't that totally creep the real Tezuka out, and therefore defeat the whole purpose of what Fuji's doing?

I am so confused.

Of course it totally creeps the real Tezuka out. ^^; (Let alone Kikumaru, or the long-suffering doujinshi reader.) Um, I'll translate the rest this evening once I *cough*finishthisprojectatwork*cough* and you'll see what happens, but basically the plot of this thing is crack. It doesn't actually start magically to make sense halfway through or anything like that.

Oh! See, I thought that was the end, and I was all like - Whaa? Did Tezuka die or something, and now Fuji has to carry out his dreams? And then when you said that Tezuka was still there, I wasn't sure what'd happened, because maybe, y'know, that's is a common thing in dj world, and no one would think twice about Fuji doing that, because what better way to show the depth and devotion of his love, especially since Tezuka's never liked flowers?

On a completely unrelated note, I love your icon so much.

Well, I translated most of the rest. So you can read what happens. Such as it is. XD

The icon is a reminder to Fandom At Large to emulate the forbearance of Dr. Mandela. XD
