[EDIT -- Unlocked in case total strangers want to take a crack? XD]

On your current playlist, hit shuffle and pick the first twenty songs on the list (no matter how cheesy or embarrassing), and write down your favourite line of the song. Try to avoid putting the song title in the line. Then, have your friends comment and see if they know the songs.

...That is to say, the first twenty minus instrumentals, Korean, Arabic and anything else impossible for me to transcribe or google, Japanese in romaji, Chinese translated because my pinyin suxx0rz, yes I listen to a lot of non-English music you've noticed? Also minus anything blatantly self-defeating, i.e. songs that not only I wouldn't be able to identify either, but I'd have to make fun of you if you could.** (There were a surprising number of these.)

  1. And what shall she do with Thursday's rags, when Monday comes around?
  2. What fascinates you so? Why am I lying low? Do you like her from top to toe? You chose her like I chose you before, before
  3. Kitai kakeru koto to negai kakeru koto wa niteru you de marude chigau mono
  4. Sometimes when this place gets kind of empty, sound of their breath fades with the light
  8. Arittake no hana de kazatte, soshite kuzureochite; nando demo, tadashiku nado nakutemo
  9. And maybe anger is your only choice, but maybe heart and fist and human voice might be the better way
  10. Watashi no kawaii ningyou, kirei na obi wo agemashou, akane no sango kazatta, utsukushii obi yo
  11. Like a cappuccino creamer, amai kaori ni sasowarete, "fura" tsuitetara - without notice I came to wonderland!
  12. A nightmare of you, of death in the pool; I see no further now than this dream
  13. And I'm not to look at you in the shoe, but the eyes, fight the eyes
  14. You kiss me, I'm falling; it’s your name I'm calling; you touch me, I want you; feels like I've always known you
  15. And looking out to a different sky will disengage me; absence is never the answer, I know, but it serves as my shade
  16. Trying to leave the territory that you control, I walk into a battle you arranged; I don't have a solid defense, nor a path of retreat
  17. Aquamarine, you're my sexy little daydream, deep blue, shadow green
  18. And maybe one day you can visit my condo, on a big hill you know, like nine oh two one oh
  19. You say the magic's gone, well i'm not a magician; you say the spark's gone, well get an electrician
  20. Don't forget what I wrote you then; and don't forget what I told you then; and don't forget I that meant to win; and don't forget your Ventolin
** Examples of blatantly self-defeating: Koyasu Takehito's solo music, live doo-wop version of Super Mario Theme with lyrics

hrrrm...

4.) "Under the Milky Way." The Church originally, though i suspect there are many many covers by now...
13.) "The Dark of the Matinee." Franz Ferdinand.
8.) "Madame Hollywood." Felix da Housecat feat. Miss Kittin
20.) "Hammering in my Head." Garbage. (quite possibly one of my favourite songs of theirs, and definitely my favourite on that album. plus, yanno, the superg33k factor of it for anyone who at one time really wanted to be an audio engineer. so many tracks of goodness going on at once, and trying to pick everything out...*.*;;;)

If you hadn't gotten the first three there I'd have been compelled to spork you. XD

Ooo, HIMH is one of my fave Garbage songs as well. Glad to see someone else who appreciates it, buried as it is on the album.

#12 is Kyoto Song, by The Cure. (But I only knew that through you. It's so terribly circular.)

And #15 is by Delerium.

Oh yeah, tomorrow evening, birthday party of a Taskforce friend at some "authentic" Greek restaurant that's rumored to be pretty good.

...Well, okay, that's more like "music in our shared pool". XD

Oh, yes I do. I think I'll transcribe the lyrics to the Mario Theme, unless you tell me you have a CD booklet or something.

Hélas non, tout ce que j'ai, c'est le cover d'album en jpeg. "Live at Nihon Seinenkan Hall". You mean they rent an auditorium to play video games music in Japan? o_O Must love country.

Dinner tomorrow. Meet me at Taskforce sometime before 7 PM. I'll try to squeeze you on the reservation list. The food looks fabulous, and they say we can visit the kitchen because it's "on the menu". :D

#12 I love -- I just sung all the way through before I realised the title never appears in the lyrics. ^^ Anyway. Kyoto Song. The Cure.

I'm ashamed to say I don't know any of the others - not even the Japanese ones. I'm pretty sure none of them are Weiß though. :) #10 sounds rather sinister! ^_^
