1) It turns out that ep.25 is a horrible place to pause in GitS:SAC. >_> Oh, my poor spider babies. (And Motoko and Batou have like this unexpected naked UST moment, which is... actually, it's pretty cool. XD Given that they'd been exchanging a sort of soldierly-semi-flirt-repartee all the way through, but when push comes to hotel room you know they'd refuse to acknowledge it, let alone do anything. Instead they talk meaningfully about politics and the role of memory in defining consciousness. Good ol' GitS.)

2) Oh boy oh boy, is TeniMyu ever the uncut quality Venus de Milo crack. I figured okay, song and dance and racket choreography, this should be Teh R0xx0r insofar as mindless fangirl entertainment is concerned - and it is - but I didn't expect them to go to so much trouble casting what are apparently the prettiest boy models in all Japan who also look like TeniPuri characters. I mean, with every successive version from manga to anime to this, it's like... like Inui gets exponentially sexier, for one, and Kaidou's incredibly bish and IT'S ALL SO VERY ODD. Is it bad of me I know this is horrible of me, but all I can think is "So where's the RPS for this thing?" I mean, totally in an objective media studies sort of way.

The multimedia marketing strategy for this series (and didn't ReDotPop have a proper word for when they do surround-blitz in Japanese pop-culture?) would frighten me if I weren't so mindlessly entertained by it. XD But y'know, it makes you sit there and think, "Why am I bothering to write fic for this series? There are people out there who get to make a MUSICAL!"

EDIT -- Have just abused McGill Science Students Society's bandwidth like a... well, like an abusive person who's buddies with the SUS Taskforce sysadmins, in order to gack all those TeniMyu clips. (And a couple of mpgs off kekkai FTP, which transfers at 5-10 Mbps on a university line.) Now I need to go grab some food, and possibly give T a call but first food, because I am starving.

Apparently it has! Since [livejournal.com profile] beckymarie has clips up in what is obviously a rip off an official release of some sort. It's... well, words fail me, but if you go read in her comments you'll have some idea.

Production IG is working on another 26 eps of GITS: SAC, which is all that preserved me after I finished watching it.

Where are you getting yours, by the way? I was watching barely-comprehensible bootlegs, so while I basked in the pretty and managed to register that Motoko and Batou were getting pretty flirty there, that's about the most I got.

Also, I must send you the Tachikoma image song I found. Gawd, I almost fell off my chair when they started singing "Dona Dona", too. There's something about singing tachikomas, really.

I got mine from the great, the mighty [livejournal.com profile] luxetumbra, and they were very sleek fansubs with accurate translations (a lifesaver, because my Japanese is not 1337 enough for debates over military jurisdiction and shady geo-political maneuvrings) and all the bells and whistles and Tachikoma specials, apart from 23-25 which were, indeed, barely-comprehensible bootlegs. ^_^; I think at some point the rightsholders cease-and-desisted the fansubbers.

I have the OSTs, and half of the second one was Tachikoma image songs. I don't remember if it had Dona Dona, though...

Oh good, you have the singing tachikoma goodness. EVERYONE needs singing tachikoma goodness.

It didn't have Dona Dona, and that made me so INCREDIBLY sad...

Also, damn you and your subs that did not suck. *SOB*

hmmm, I really need to get GitS from someone...had a bizarre fondness for Motoko & Batou and their strange soldier cyborg UST in the movie & manga...

teh great & powerful lux hath made the same offer (you guys rock) and I will certs take you up on it, but firstly I must fashion a proper place upon which the files may settle (that is, I need to burn a bunch of stuff to make room on my hd. one would assume 50 gigs is enough space. one would be wrong, if one is a fangirl....)

::wince::

I see that I didn't send you 26. My apologies, I thought I had stuck it on there somewhere, but I obviously didn't. See what TeniPuri does to you? Rots the brain. XD Will burn it tonight and stick it in the mail. Along with new PMK and Papuwa, which omg, you have to sit down and explain to me one of these days. Crack. Crack. Crack. And I don't understand it at all as I never saw the first series. Lost in the wilderness of fish with hairy legs I am.

...I'd just assumed you weren't able to get it at the time of sending, actually. ^_^; But thankee.

Papuwa-first-series-wise, the easy way out is teh Aesthe review, (http://www.aestheticism.com/visitors/manga/papuwa/papuwa.htm) which is detailed and like all Aesthe reviews has bits about the dj pairings all over the place, just in case you'd like to watch it with BL in mind and break your brain some more. XD (How it relates to me: I'm in it for plot. Which is utterly pathetic, really, but when I was reading J's fics I'd always wonder about poor Kotaro and whether he was going to stay in a coma forever, which I thought was a bit of a bum rap. Knew there was a second series but it wasn't until they animated and I started watching it that I realised it was all Kotaro all the time, which made me happy. Um. Even though he's a horrible little brat. ^_^;;;)

Do you have the entire musical yet?

If not, I'm going to make a giant leap of faith and assume you want it. XD

...I want it like something for which I have no adequately hyperbolic metaphor but that is clearly important to me. :D Eeeee. *fangirls madly over lux*
