There's snow on the ground, and aaaahhh I'll never be finished in time. Portion control problems with regard to workload; enough of you out there know exactly what I'm talking about.

So Prince of Tennis! Lux sent me 97 episodes of Prince of Tennis (which in my arcane and arbitrary mental calculation of fannish giri I have set down as meaning that I owe her the entirety of the next chapter of tBD plus Christmas fic, but I digress). As I've already read the manga, I've decided to adopt a slightly different approach to this anime by watching the beginning and then the rest out of order, according to importance. Thus I ask you, TeniPuri fans at large: which are the episodes I should watch first? As in Top Ten, Do Not Miss?

...I should seriously figure out how to copy digisubs onto tape or VCD so me mum can watch them on the telly. ^^; Not to mention everyone else I know who can't watch digisubs.

A second question: would anyone be interested in getting a mealworm lolly for Christmas? *evil grin* Is a usual barley sugar lolipop, about 1" x 1 1/2", with a whole mealworm embalmed in it. Looks gross, perfectly edible. I got two when I went to the Botanic Garden for the bug tasting (I bet all of you thought I was joking when I posted that), so I can vouch for the provenance.

The fried locusts were yummy, especially in a vinegar-and-ginger dipping sauce like you'd make for crab. Mmm, land shrimp.

Ask lux which entry it was, I actually gave her a top ten-ish list of TeniPuri episodes. Which, I'm ashamed to say, is from the squealing fangirl standpoint, but hey--it's a start. ^_^

My personal faves? Eps 11-13 (Momo and Ryoma being Real Men animated is too frigging cute), ep 71 (Dates. Inui being a spaz), and the Rokkaku arc (eps 91-97). The anime follows the manga very closely for the most part - it's only started deviating as of eps 100+, so you won't be missing much (although the Golden Pair doubles matches have lots of shiny ghei moments in the animation).

The really fun things are the fillers and the chibi episodes, which are eps 64, eps 70 - 72 and 87 - 88. When you're done with those, you may want to see the Jousei Shounan arc for some of the series' most spazzed tennis (76 - 85).

Hyotei arc is where Tezuka hammers everyone's heart, also worth a look. In fact, why don't you go here to see for yourself: http://www.tv-tokyo.co.jp/anime/tennipri/story.html. Ep summaries ahoy ^_^v Have fun, ne.

You did! Which, at the end of all that burning, I then promptly forgot to stick in the box. But now I just e-mailed it to her.
lux<--doofus-head.

Hope all is well in your neck of the woods...

Transcoding is a pain in the ass though. And with something as long as TeniPuri you'll be doing it through February. I usually play the avi on my lappy or desktop and run the feed to my TV through the TV-out on the graphics card. Most laptops of recent vintage (2-3 years?) should be able to do this with no problems (e.g., instructions (http://support.dell.com/us/en/kb/document.asp?DN=1058305) for a Dell (http://support.dell.com/us/en/kb/document.asp?DN=1018856)).

Or you can just buy one of these (http://www.videos2dvd.com/divxplayers.html) for your parents for Christmas. Plays just about everything. ^_^;;

::shuffles feet::

Only if you feel you must. XD

But seriously no, there is no giri. If anything I am in your debt for all the fic and commentary. Greatly appreciated.
