Y'know, I have a photo from Shoujocon 2001 of me, Kim out of penal-tea.net (
sumeragiskank) and her Shinsengumi tattoo. As these things go anime fangirl-dom is a small and muddy pond.
Didn't I have something useful to say...? Oh, yeah, music again:
The Cure - Kyoto Song
Often these days I read a series and it asks for music, way before I start considering fic or pairings or meta or anything like that. Has something to do with the overall vibe of the thing resonating with a specific band's style; if there are lyrical correspondences I'll only find them afterward. Nana's was Love Psychedelico, GetBackers's was Elastica, and Peace Maker's turns out to be... The Cure. (Speaking of Robert Smith.) Most specifically, this song - not just because of the title. Whereupon I was immensely disgruntled to find that I didn't technically have a copy of it anywhere, my history of listening to the Cure being mostly based on borrowing other people's albums. I ended up making a special trip to HMV to score a 10$ copy of "Head On The Door". XD;
Threw an instrumental version at
luckykitty the other day. I can't tell you if the lyrics make me think of anything specifically (well, maybe Suzu); it really is about vibe.
Drabbles! Come, there were way more people last time? XD Ah vell, you have from now until mid-December anyhow.

Date: 2003-11-19 05:35 am (UTC)Kondou/Yamanami. Not very bish, but damn cute. The manga itself has enough Hijikata/Okita to tide you over for a month. Barring withdrawal symptons, 'course. XD
