On Sunday Alan sat in his high chair and ate a third of a banana, spoon mashed, and also drank some water over the course of the day (I went out to see John Wick 3). He likes banana so much he was grabbing at the spoon to stick it in his mouth.

Today I mixed some breast milk with Gerber baby oat cereal and fed him the resulting slurry. He grabbed the spoon, stuck it in his mouth... and seemed sorely disappointed. XD; In fact he refused to eat the entire portion and wanted his milk properly instead. A few hours later we went out for a walk, and halfway through I realized he had a rash about his mouth and chin. Is it possible that he reacted to baby oat cereal, the most innocuous (and undeniably tasteless) food?! Either that, or some combination of his drooling, and outdoors allergens. I hadn't been taking pains to note it down but he really is gnawing with extreme determination now on his fingers, silicon teether, etc. every chance he gets.

The walk itself was kind of stressful, through no one's fault but my own: it was too windy and hot and we stayed out too long, I had to feed him on a park bench. But A. seemed his normal self in the evening, despite the rash and several huge poos, by which means he eliminated the banana.
