5 –If you have ever had a character try to push their way into a fic, whether your "muse" or not, what did you do about it?

I've had instances of realizing in the process of writing that certain characters were easier to get across - stood out more vividly against their backgrounds, for some reason, or had more naturally distinctive voices. It's usually not someone with an entire story of their own I'd like to tell. What do you do about it? There's nothing much to be done about it. It's analogous to being a film director and realizing one of the minor supporting cast is acting the pants off everyone else in the couple of scenes they happen to feature in. You stick to the script and hope the whole day's shoot doesn't end up on the editing room floor.

Like, inherently funny, the way Batman or the word "aardvark" is inherently funny:

Bcause he has great taste.

On paper, there is no way Dan Radcliffe should have good taste. He's hardworking on a limited talent, dorkily earnest down to the cellular level, and an incredibly rich child actor to boot. But we've been watching him go since age, what, 12? whenever he started giving his own interviews - and his taste in everything has been precociously, bogglingly flawless from day one. And he still can't act.

His real movin'-and-shakin' career will be in production, I guess. And everyone in the industry probably knows it.
