Kings of Convenience at El Salon

The universe has made up for the euphoria of this week (a costume party, a concert, a leaked album, a sizeable salary raise and a new fandom) by afflicting me with whatever it is that's been going around the flist. Vaguely woozy and out of sorts, headache, bit of a runny nose, bit of a cough, may be running a low-grade fever. Not leaving the house today was the right decision, even if it left smurfmatic-tachi in the lurch rather. ^^; Next week features a huge whopping deadline at work and... my birthday. Which I really have to start organizing.

On the bright side, I've caught up on Death Note, i.e. am stewing in the same pan as everyone else more or less, and many people are watching Initial D or about to do so! Huzzah.

Untitled madness

Okay, someone needs to explain to me that I cannot go buy the New Order album in Japan plus see them live in Barcelona.

(My problem is that I'm one of those tourists who need a goal, even if - especially if - it's an utterly spurious goal. Going somewhere with the stated purpose of relaxation is somehow unappealing, if not outright oxymoronic as travel itself isn't relaxing at all, compared to vegetating on one's couch. On a trip my short-term daily goal is always to take pictures or travel notes; overall goal needs to be something like visiting friends or family, or attending a convention, or - I haven't done this yet but see it as an inevitability - a music festival/concert. For that matter something like cis saying "you should hop over to London for a Club FT night" does just as well. It's a mental thing more than anything else. One of the reasons I love my flist so much is that it allows me potentially to traverse the globe on the back of a single excuse: meeting friends for dinner. XD)
