My final word
Dec. 6th, 2004 07:04 pmThe Gwen Stefani album is, actually, really good. Despite "Harajuku Girls". (And even that doesn't suck because of the music per se, as because of the combination of what she sings and how she sings it. It's sort of like the reification of cringe-worthy dumb gaijin-hood.) When I make my Mirage Of Blaze Does The 80s FST, I'll probably put "Danger Zone" on it.
EDIT -- Okay, okay, I grok that it's instant gratification time.
Gwen Stefani - Serious: for some reason this song makes me think of some Initial D J-fanart I saw ages ago, with Ryousuke as doctor and Takumi as patient... and Kyousuke as nurse. But look, at least it's not Muraki-sensei!
Gwen Stefani - Danger Zone: no, really, it's a bit unnerving how well this does work for where I am in MoB (halfway through vol.6). So yeah, this is the Boy's Love Versus Mock-Eighties Pop Association Album With New Order In For Extra WTFness, basically.
Britney Spears - Me Against The Music (Rishi Mix): courtesy of
fable some time ago. <3 Much better than the original IMO.
