Crystal Kay - Boyfriend (Acoustic Version)
Crystal Kay - Boyfriend (Album Version)
Crystal Kay - Boyfriend -partII-
Crystal Kay - What Makes Me Fall In Love
Only the second best song off Almost Seventeen (the first being the sweet funky old-school groove of "Girl U Love"). Part II is the up-tempo single mix as produced by m-flo, whose sound is so readily recognisable nowadays I don't even have to check the credits. My favorite is the unplugged acoustic take, though: it brings a tear to my eye. The girl has soul.
The last one is the English version, which is all right (CK is American by way of nationality), but the Japanese lyrics are much, much better.
(Actually some Jfan put this down for Atobe x An 100 Questions, which I don't buy - the song call, that is to say, I totally ship the pairing OMG - but it reminded me to post the song.)
And to prove that jpop is not the only thing I listen to, the Hawksley Workman single I bought months ago and always meant to share but never got around to doing so:
Hawksley Workman - 01 - Anger as Beauty
Hawksley Workman - 02 - Love Will Tear Us Apart
Hawksley pwnz j00. Even if he does LWTUA as a sloooooow waltz that's constantly stumbling out of signature (Hawksley is a one-man show from vocals to instruments to production, so no need to share out the blame XD). And as a bonus from the ensuing Lover/Fighter album:
Hawksley Workman - No Reason To Cry Out Your Eyes (On The Highway Tonight)
Which is a Perfect Pop Moment (tm), and no doubt the lyrics are profound and poetic and all, but as with all Perfect Pop Moments the only reason to learn them is so one can sing along. *g*
(How lame do you reckon it'd be if I bought a Kylie album solely for "Can't Get Blue Monday Out Of My Head"?)
