petronia: (yeah what?)
PMK ep.6. ...Huh? she says mildly. I think I'll go and watch a bit of GB anime now, if you don't mind, just to remind myself what it's like not to be playing continuity hopscotch.

...Well, apart from those last ten episodes of said GB anime.

Have given up. Will limit myself to Tsukihime and PMK henceforth, all other series can be begged for on bended knee or wait until region 1 DVDs come out. I mean hells, there's only so much telly one can watch in a day, let alone BitTrickle, and so many series I'd potentially follow. (I'd follow Papuwa even if the files weren't so ginormous - saints alone know what they're encoded with, I hesitate to inquire. Plays well on a Pentium II, tho', which I know from bitter experience DivX5 doesn't. ...It's not as crackpot as Photon, quite - nor does it have the painful!het - but the fact that I'm making the comparison signifies somewhat. There's a pervasive aura of 'shrooms trip to the thing, in which said 'shroom is played by Koyasu.

I bet I'm the only person on my flist who's watched Photon. Or that much of it, because I certainly watched more than my god-given lot back in the day. Damned anime club doofi. Also re Papuwa - I swear I saw Shinsengumi innit. 説明無用, she says grimly.)

I suppose that's what this is. Or possibly the fact that pseudo-historical manga likes nothing better than to crank the pathos up to high (well, that and give everyone really inaccurate hairstyles). But I'm getting tired of all this reading.

I'm not going to be able even to pretend to talk about the Youkoden manga in an intelligent manner. ^_^; Failure of kanji-reading, essentially; I can't match up the text to what I know, let alone that I don't know very much to begin with. XD But it's quite pretty and evocative, if fundamentally rather silly. The main character is actually the son of the pair of foxes who were killed to make the rain drum, and takes on Yoshitsune's identity for complicated plot purposes; and the Big Bad is the aggrieved spirit of Sutoku who's become tengu and is intent on manipulating the remnants of the Taira in order to wreak havoc on Yamato. Eheh.

...Sort of feel like getting back to tennis boys. XD;;; Had elaborate theories regarding Peace Maker but realised I'm going to have to sit on everything until the anime is over, because it would be spoilering. (Let alone that the anime is spoilering me by mixing up the timeline. I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt and assuming that they're not just making up filler.) Did read the cute yomikiri at the end of vol.6, with the 'lil demon-angel shota - or is it loli? - which Kurono says she started drawing during the summer vacation of her high-school senior year. By my calculation that makes her younger than me. Of course she complains that her art back then sucked; to what degree of purported "suckage" you can easily imagine. >_> Anyone with the least shred of artistic pride would want to bash her head in with a rock. Except then there won't be any more Peace Maker.

Her mother does assistant work for her. Can you picture? XD
