Not that, y'know, this makes any difference to the issue, but the French are probably speechless and teary-eyed with delight that the Americans have decided to call their fries something else. I imagine your typical Frenchman equates fries with either McDonald's or Belgium or both, and... well. McDonald's. Belgium. Nothing you'd want the name of your country to be associated with, not willingly.

I have just downloaded the purported theme song of FFX-2.

It's as far as one could possibly get from 'Suteki da ne' and still remain under the common Platonic-ideal umbrella of "Japanese popular music".

Idoru pop, man. Serious idoru pop.

EDIT - I also have Erasure's version of 'Ave Maria', Latin and all. The logic escapes me utterly, but it's quite pretty.
