I feel random today. Random random. Hullo, livejournal spamming.

At nine there was a drive defragmentation that simply wouldn't bide its time, so I put on the radio instead of the 'amp, and blessed if it wasn't Justin Timberlake.** Goddamn full-frontal media saturation. You will tell me that it's more reasonable of him to have invaded the airwaves than to have invaded my lj-friends list - I surf lj in concentric circles, and have given up the outer walls of Minas Tirith lj-friends of my lj-friends for lost long ago - but at this point something's got to give. And as I can't very well defriend en masse (I *just* enfriended a couple of egregious offenders), I turned the dial.

The new station featured Bryan Adams singing in French.

I blame the lot of YOU for this, I hope you can tell.

** Are these songs directed at Britney? ...Well, I don't know. How am I supposed to know? Is why I'm asking.

Now Mix96 is playing New Kids On The Block. The universe is m0xx0ring me.

Further proof of this: I just spent half an hour trying to locate a wake-on-LAN connector. There's nothing like staring at the guts of an unfamiliar computer, selectively blind to the widget one happens to be looking for, for thirty minutes.

Note also that I'm hooking this box up to the high-speed modem because I need to transfer files and the floppy drive is broken (could swap the drive but an ethernet card is cheap, and for the thing to be running on the obsolete home dial-up account of the next-to-last guy to have held this job is, well, stupid). This being the case, of course the drivers I need come on a floppy. It's just as well that Sympatico hasn't gotten around to killing the dude's dial-up yet, or I'd really be up the creek.

...Well, it's done now. FWIW. >_

Some time ago I decided that as far as I would be concerned, Blaise Zabini looks like the young Dante Gabriel Rossetti.

Why not make the inside of your head a more pleasant place to be, if it costs you nothing?
