Now spinning: Pink Floyd, Leonard Cohen and Joan Baez.

I'm going to stop even pretending that I know what's going to make it onto the soundtrack of my life, day by day.

Also, it's obvious that the leitmotif of the week is going to be Picturing Unlikely People As Slutty Schoolboys. All saints preserve me. (Started Sunday with this Freddy Mercury interview from the '70s, that my demonic sister dredged up from Crowley knows where. ...Y'know, on some level I didn't believe people actually ever talked *that* camp. Especially not to Melody Maker. But then again, on some level I believe Oxford is a pleasant communal fiction where a lot of my favorite novels happen to be set by authorial consensus.)

Yes, it's another work in progress. *dies* Is the Too Dumb To Explain WK Ficbunny that I've been referring to darkly for months now. (In fact a very early draft of the beginning has been floating about for more than a year. Never let it be said that I don't take my Dumb Ideas seriously.)

Speaking of which this is the fourth ficpost I've made on lj since Nov. 30. Must have set some sort of record.

Happy New Year, you wretches. XD

(Gacked off [livejournal.com profile] fyredancer.)

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?

About as much as I thought I would; perhaps a little less. Most of it wasn't what I expected to write, but that'a a different story.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2002?

Supersonic Angel Engine. That, to quote Malfoy PI, came out of blue fuck nowhere.

What's your favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest.

Buh. I'd say the SSAE one, but it's WiP and I don't want to jinx it. "Hit Single", then, because it was non-tortuous and did what I wanted.

Did you take any writing risks this year? (See above for unexpected pairings, etc.) What did you learn from them?

Attempted NaNoWriMo. XD That got further than I thought I would, actually, but have come to the conclusion that I can't show it to anyone, because it'd be the worst exposé of my fangirl foibles, like going naked to mass. Am rather happy I wrote a Christmas fic snippet, though, and on demand too. It's something I've always wished I could do.

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?

New Year's Resolution for the breaking: actually finish the bloody book. Maybe if the prose is nice enough no one will notice I'm a big d00b for writing it - is my hope with every single piece of my fiction, really.
