petroniaIf I'd blogged directly this afternoon you would've had a little allegorical rant here about the Rational Rose Bride and a thousand swords all marked IT group budget, which would have been a very teeny weeny little bit obscure. But yes. I'd like our company to go RUP too, Mister CEO sir; and while I'm at it could I have a pony flying unicorn too kthx.
Against all expectations, the Halloween fic is about 300 words away from completion. (Yes, I know I've been promising deliverables, but I certainly hope no one takes me at my word when ficcing is involved.) It's past deadline, but in an instance of blatant conflict of interest I'm also helping with the HTML, so I've got another day. XD It was supposed to be a vignette, and now it's 4000 words of (hopefully mildly entertaining) absolutely nothing. Like writing an episode of Seinfeld.
The smutty bits that were strategically edited out are about 1500 words, and will end up as something else.
In other news, I was genuinely considering bowing/chickening out of NaNiSoRe, because I couldn't get up the enthusiasm for my origfic idea at all. (It's the same one as last year. It's been basically the same one since I was twelve or so, barring minor details such as plot, which is why I found myself harbouring immediate sympathy for Ms. Doran. And no it's not BL, so you wouldn't want to read it anyway. *sticks out tongue*) But this evening while waiting for the bus I found myself thinking about font faces for obsolete ideogrammatic languages, and suddenly a fairly pivotal scene that had always been sort of fill-in-the-blank developed actual dialogue and import to said dialogue. It'd be nice to begin there, methinks, because I won't be tempted to start slashing right off the bat, which was one of the things that drove it off the rails last time. ...Yes, I make up yaoi fanfic for my origfic that I don't consider part of the canon. Shut up, if the Gravitation mangaka can do it so can I.
Anyhow I feel as if I'd like to write it now, which is what's been missing for a while.
Have also watched Tsukihime and Gunslinger Girl. Will make the usual notations after I've gotten some sleep. Also, music post.

C'mon, tho I am a shipper at heart, I really am also a subtext h0. So naturally writing shippy fic of my own original fic would make sense. Except than it would be explicit text, which would still irk me. I am fond of subtext. ^_~
