GB drabbles redux
Sep. 30th, 2003 12:38 amvi: took two hours, because am insane for attempting this scene in 100 words in the first place. But I must cheer up Wen!
x: yeah, I watched ep.39 XD Dude, why hasn't anyone else written ExA yet? They're so much fun.
vi.
That evening Ban swaggers in the door as usual – and stops in his tracks, staring. After a moment Paul lifts his head from his paper.
"Ah," he says. "I see."
"I came," Amano Ginji says, but his eyes tell the story better. Ban draws a deep breath.
"About time," he says. Smirks, then, not flippantly enough. Ginji feels something lift from him in that instant, leaving him light enough to float. "Master?"
"His coffee's on the house, feckless layabout. As if you had the money."
Ban touches his hand as they leave, briefly.
It's that weightless moment Ginji remembers afterward.
x.
"--Upon which they threw themselves at me. I mean literally." Emishi gazes up pensively at the treetops, arms crossed behind his head. "I shit thee not, sahib: I was the conquering hero. A man for the ages. Florence Nightingale could not have been more sacred to a nurse's heart."
"So then what?"
"So then Shido kicked my ass for no reason. That bastard Midou, too – couldn't figure it out. First time I've ever seen them agree on anything."
Amon nods sagely. "That's life for you, huh? You win some, you lose some."
"That you do, Amon-yan. That you do."

Date: 2003-09-29 11:02 pm (UTC)Was difficult. *sweats* But the thing about writing to tarot (not the first series I've planned it for, though the first time I made myself sit down and do it) is that - if the plot itself is consistent - some of the attributions will sort themselves out. vi = "choice, following one's heart", with 0 = Ginji and iv = Raitei it becomes an inevitability. XD;;
I use it to predict the course of the series, actually. The further a character is into the last half of the series, the more impenetrable the mystery surrounding him/her...

Date: 2003-10-01 12:06 am (UTC)Possibly both. They talk through mirror-uplink, in the manga.
xix may very well be Ban and Ginji's meeting, but with Bunny-hakase and Brain Trust in it. Because I have not yet discovered the limits of how much plot I can cram into 100 words.

Date: 2003-09-30 06:22 am (UTC)And I'd love some ExA myself - this little bit was muchly fun. As for the first one...heh. just wrote a version of that scene myself yesterday. yours is lovely. I still take my hat off to anyone who attempts to tell anything in 100 words!

Date: 2003-09-30 12:26 pm (UTC)(Y'know, the translating has the effect of making me feel as if I've been writing ExA for the past month already. ^^;)

Date: 2003-09-30 12:31 pm (UTC)It doesn't really need the Tarot to be readable. That being said, I've tried to shovel as much of the accepted attributes/readings/associations into the thing as humanly possible. XD

Date: 2003-09-30 11:36 pm (UTC)I'm kind of late on the scene o_o *greets!* Chirachira desu~ yoroshiku~
Or whatever. ♥
MAJOR ARCANA *___* *hyperventalate* You, like, own me (along with the many many other persons and non-persons). I totally bow at your feet for doing those drabbles and how you make me squee after each one o__o
Plus, yanno, the little allusions you add in all over the place blow my mind all the time, aaaahn ♥ ♥ ♥
I'll be adding you to my
stalkerfriends list now ♥no subject
Date: 2003-10-01 09:03 am (UTC)(Of course, once I picked myself off the floor I was like, "...If you then take that as the backstory and set it several years into Ginji's future, it'll make the greatest manga! He'd be like Cloud, except wandering around Japan wearing black leather and being brokenly heroic! His legend would grow! And no explanation for TEH NATURE OF HIS ANGST would be given until at least tankoubon 5!" ...I so deserve to be shot.)
Major arcana works seriously well for GB; i.e., as well or possibly better than X:1999, which was built around it. Not that I'm saying the series is ghostwritten by Alan Moore or anything, but. >_>
