Aug. 30th, 2003 12:47 amHad a mild stomach upset over the last two days (Fiona, I suspect the meat bun XD), and have now developed a naggingly intermittent cough and awry sinuses. The cough is of course the serious part. I am in most respects a disgustingly healthy Chinese peasant but bronchial ailments render me alarmingly consumptive. Labour Day Weekend - I didn't even realise it was until Friday 3PM, whadda break - will thus feature lots of sleep, and high collars.
Cannot sit in the chilly basement in a flimsy t-shirt, therefore, so I'll take the manga with me to bed. How utterly luxurious. I used to read in bed continually when I was a teen, but somehow grew out of the habit; now only a few books get the treatment out of circumstance or atavistic fancy, like the Harry Potters. Anyhow I do have to buckle down and finish reading before I can translate. There's a flow to first read that's unbreakable, and manga translation is a mechanical slog no matter how likeable the source material. (Or how quick-and-dirty the job. ^^;) It's not my fault that #22 is slow going: it keeps breaking my brain, so I have to set it down and go @_@; for a while. Plus Semimaru is only comprehensible when I squint sideways, due to speaking in geisha jargon and (apparently) using Heike Monogatari quotes as special attacks. Like Emishi's Kansai-talk but more pretentious. Akabane has the weirdestfriends enemies.
But there is fight/dance analogy! Because I am just that damned good.
