Regarding Harry 5
Jun. 20th, 2003 11:40 pmYes, it's supposed to come to the house tomorrow. (No mail on Saturdays normally, but Canada Post made it a special delivery day. I'm dead serious.) I am, however - and I say this in the nicest and most non-specifically-targetted way possible - getting royally sick of hearing about it. And this without so much as clicking through a single lj-cut, spoiler, interview or random babble. When you get down to it, HP canon for me is an enjoyable novel series that doesn't particularly rate obsessive - or indeed frequent - re-reading; optimally I would like to enjoy the latest installment the way I typically get to enjoy novel series, i.e. by myself with no one in my immediate circle clamouring over the same thing. (Apart from my sister, and bad enough that we'll be fighting over the same copy.) I do communal fanstuff; I don't do communal reads.
So if I disappear until the brouhaha dies down, that'll be why. ...Or one of the several other time-related issues that have cropped up in my life, including:
--Yet another freelance website project. Two, really.
--The fact that I imperatively need to set some time aside for swimming and yoga.
--My 3-4 nearly-finished fics.
--The 3-4 unwritten fics I badly want to start, including one that's on a 10-day deadline.
--The fact that Tania has somehow managed to pledge off my fanart services, meaning that I'm going to have to, like, actually clean up some of my sketches.
--Did I mention Xenosaga?
So, like, yeah.

Date: 2003-06-20 09:19 pm (UTC)(What I want, I think, is to be able to pretend that I'm the only person in the world who happens to be reading this book this particular week. For that I'd have to get offline. Hells, for that I'd have to institute a media blackout.)
