I made a new layout for the pitasblog. Would normally not make a note of it here, but I've spent so much time on this'un over the past few days that I want people to go look at it and be blinded. Plus it occurs to me that a select few of you may be... amused.

A forthright appeal won't budge anyone, of course, so what I did was change the MP3s as well. Go forth and download. XD

Hee. Paradise Kiss. You rock. ...honestly, that manga is so incredibly dysfunctional. I think it's even more dysfunctional than CLAMP manga, if only because it mostly acts like it's being totally normal while it's being psychotic. But, much like CLAMP stuff, it's pretty, so we all love it anyway.

Delish layout. I really should see Velvet Goldmine, shouldn't I? I shamefully confess that I don't know any more about David Bowie et al than does Avril Lavigne.

I think "amused" is an understatement.

"Traumatised" would be more like it. XD

Velvet Goldmine isn't really a "historically accurate" representation of the glam rock musical movement - not even to the extent of 24 Hour Party People, which film freely and PoMo-ly admits to embroidery of the facts in the service of a good story. XD It's more like a "fantasia on the theme of", or a roman à clef. If you want the facts on Bowie or T-Rex or whatever you may as well read a book. That being said, it's certainly worth one's while as a movie, and the music is the music even if none of the music is actually Bowie.

That's the addictive element to Yazawa Ai's manga, I think - the fact that it's exactly like real life, only with better jobs and cooler accessories. (And, as per Nana, niftier furniture. Must... restrain... urge... to... shop...) I swear half her characters are people I actually know; alas, no one in my immediate social circle is from the Glitter Planet, although some of them would certainly like to visit there.

Thanks! ^_^ You remind me that I have to put a link up in the layout comments, as the stationery background was gacked off a Japanese web material site. ^^;
