You'd have to have exposure to either French or, er, Indonesian pop to know who I mean - probably - but this singer called Anggun? She did that 'la neige au sahara' song that was umpteen times overplayed a few years ago (as well as a bunch of other hits, but that's the one I remember). I just managed to figure that out, given that I rarely pay attention to who actually sings the songs on the radio.

I'm supposed to be having Easter dinner with her on Sunday. Damned if I know how this one came about. I can't even get Google to confirm that she lives here.

Wow. How'd that happen? Do you have friends/family in common?
I actually like "Snow on the Sahara" (though it *was* overplayed). I hope you'll blog about how the lunch went - she's gorgeous ^_^

You know how I keep nattering about having to do Xmas/Thanksgiving/Easter with the family friends who live in the Birdcage, right? Is them. They got acquainted with her in the elevator. ^^; Said they never had a chance to invite her to dinner before, as she was always jetting off somewhere.

(I'm thinking it has to be the same person - there can't be too many singers named Anggun - but there's really no mention anywhere online of her being based in this city. OTOH it makes a kind of sense, because there are other French pop stars living in that complex - and god knows if *I* were Indonesian and moneyed and wanted to live in Montreal for some godforsaken reason, I'd get a condo in the Birdcage. >_>)
