Possibly this swan-dive into fannish writing has something to do with the current situation in international politics; a reaction against, as it were. Mind you I don't avoid thinking about it, and I'd like to believe what opinions I hold are informed, but this lj was always supposed to be the ficblog and not in any form a politblog. So I very much need fic to write/ramble about, these few days especially.
