Turns out I can't read those scanlations anyway, as Chinese server inaccessible in the evening, or what would be workday hours in Asia. (I know it's up because, well, it was up at noon today, but that's when I'm supposed to be busy adult-ing.) Fairly typical of Chinese servers, actually. Bleh. Hate on the vagaries of distributed networks.

(A few good fics extant - thank you usual suspects ^_^ - but I read too fast, so bleh again. I really don't do so well outside of mass-industrial-labour fandoms like HP or WK, do I? Should I trawl for Chinese fic? Japanese? I learnt all these bloomin' languages for a reason. Okay, two reasons, if you include reading ingredient labels and the s00p3r s3cr3t menu items in chauvinistic Asian restaurants. In any case you'd think I'd remember that shounen competition manga eatz my brain. After I haven't read one for a while I forget why I keep telling myself to ignore their existence, and start getting curious. Curiosity kills the cat.)

I narrated basically the entire plot to Tania over fried chicken, complete with Kuwabara Honinbo impersonation, because I really am that much of a dork.

Your fall into HnG amuses me greatly, mainly because it remind me of my relationship with HnG too much; the insane squeeching when one realises the lack ofreadable HnG fics, and It's always good to share the love that is HnG ^__^ And shounen 'competetion' manga is crack, how can one resist the rivalry, the relationship b/w inanimate objects/hobbies/way of life to sex, or the blatant chemistry that the protagonist have with practically every gorgeous character... expecially his main rival ^___^ And one is especially hard pressed -not- to fall for HnG when the art is beautiful and the boys -grow-.... boy, do they grow *wipe the drool* and fits every other shounen criteria quite nicely ^__^ I take it you like Yonha? Or is there another deep dark reason ^^

Also wanted to comment on your dream that mainly consist of WOW. Talk about vivid.

One more thing, THANK YOU for finding decent HnG fics for me, thank you, thank you, thank you *kisses the ground you walk on*

I'm not used to bishy!Hikaru, actually. I may never truly be used to bishy!Hikaru. It feels like breaking the law to have a shounen manga protagonist look like Omi with a sk8erb0i dye job. And currently I don't so much like Yonha as I'm stunned by him (and by the recurrent unfairness of my life, but hey). Frankly speaking I think he's there to give the boy-readers an opponent they can hate properly.
