Thumbnail entertainment update: five tankoubon into Hikaru no Go. The art is very pretty. Will probably obtain more later this week. So far... I feel rather sorry for Akira. ^^; Hikaru himself is supremely well-adjusted, with all the empathy and foresight of a typical 11-year-old boy, shall we say. He's not trying to mess with anyone's head, but... well.

Shounen manga. The satisfaction is like that of a romance novel, really.

In other news, QaF UK veddy amusing in that laugh-at-teleroman-foibles sort of way, and Lex's father is obviously the most interesting character in SV.

Ah, I love the Hikaru no Go art. The page compositions are clean and easy to follow, but the art is so great that it never feels too simple, and always communicates everything perfectly. (his use of perspective makes my artistic tendencies crawl away weeping.) and I've been feeling sorry for Akira through most of the series. He's a boy obsessed.

(don't you just love how easy it is to take their dialogue as innuendo? 'I think about how you would move, how you would respond to me...' [but they're so young. I feel dirty.])

He's got a passionate nature, that one. His problem is that up to this point he didn't *know* he had a passionate nature. ^^; If this situation had dropped onto him ten years later he would've been much more reasonable about it.

Shounen competition manga constant. Replace - whatever it is, soccer, go, car racing, ice fishing, ferret taming - in the text with the words "hot sex". Methinks it says more for what women consider a *real* sport than anything else.
