Baby diary: 55 weeks 1 day
Jan. 2nd, 2020 09:36 pm Not a lot to report. My mother is watching Alan for these two days in hopes that his cold will be entirely gone by Monday. It hasn't really taken up in his chest, thank goodness: he had a fitful cough for several days but it seemed to be post-nasal drip and responded well to slippery elm syrup. I've managed to fight it off too, with only a bit of a scratchy throat.
On Monday we go to our regular schedule, so no doubt he'll catch something else, on the bus or at daycare. ^^;
Alan's sleep is all right now. If he wakes up it's only briefly and he goes back to sleep by himself. I was even able to put him to bed and nip upstairs to the neighbours' NYE party for midnight champagne. It's still quite hard to get him down for a proper nap without nursing him on my lap the entire time, but well. Once I'm back at work that will only be my problem once a week (his grandparents will be over one day most weekends so I can run errands and socialize).
Otherwise, there's not much new. I might put the diary on hiatus until there's something -- a first molar, a first step, or a really undeniable word that's not "mama". XD; My mother brought over my vintage metal pipe xylophone, which Alan very much liked and was able to play, and wanted to be admired for playing. But he needs to be supervised with it, as it's not toddler safe.
