petronia I was offered a subsidized spot at the work daycare... for September 1. [screaming cat emoji]
I signed, because it was immediately evident that one couldn't find a better environment, and I've heard stories from colleagues whose children were wait-listed for several years(!). It's three months earlier than I'd been planning to start Alan. But he is so large and friendly, maybe he will adjust easily. He doesn't have any playmates at home except me, and I can tell he wants to interact with other children.
...It'll be weird to take my child into the work daycare, doing the same morning/afternoon commute, bumping into colleagues, and not actually go to work. ^^; Though, we might spent a chunk of the fall in Shanghai, once it's cool enough to be livable.
