Baby diary: 12 weeks
Mar. 7th, 2019 03:15 pm 12 weeks exactly was yesterday. Little dude can finally grab hold of the hanging toys in his activity gym! He is more of a watcher than a doer, though.
I give in to the temptation of giving him little tastes of things - a dab of juice from when I'm eating mango or oranges. Not enough to constitute eating, just to give him something to look forward to. XD
We've been back at my place for a week and it's been pretty ok. The ambient noises don't bother him (they must design washer-driers with babies in mind these days). He's slowly learning to nap in his big crib. But I lost another 3lbs because I never have time to eat dinner.

Date: 2019-03-08 04:04 pm (UTC)IME babies like a bit of ambient noise - even toddlers, hence white noise machines. There was some webcomic to that effect, how babies can sleep through a vacuum but wake up when it's all quiet at night. Someone posited that's how they were trained by gestating in the womb. They fall asleep to the motion and noise of the outside world but are awake all night when it's quiet and still XD
(It just hit me literally as I typed that comment - if we had uterine replicators stacked in presumably quiet hospital/laboratory rooms a la Bujold - I wonder if that would change????? Will I find out in this lifetime?!)
