Is it possible to get the Phantom Blood movie online, like, at all? Or have the Japanese been clamping down on camcorders in the theatre? XD;

SBR chapters 28-29: at times Araki makes ceremonial gestures in the general direction of plausibility, somehow always with the effect of rendering his series even more ineffable. For instance, since we're asked to believe that Johnny Joestar's special attack is shooting the nails off his fingers and toes as high-velocity spinning projectiles, it's not much more of a stretch - nay, it's reasonable - to assume that they regenerate within a few seconds, if not instantaneously. But this is not the case. We are informed Johnny has to consume an herb that causes his nails to regrow, a matter of tens of seconds (which are of course crucial in battle). This of course raises far more questions than it answers, such as: how the hell did Johnny figure that out? Was he going around previously with empty nailbeds for days at a time? Wouldn't that be horribly painful? What herb? Can it be patented for use in the cosmetics industry? And how do you get hold of "herbs" in the wintry hinterlands of Michigan where you can't even find distinguishing features in the landscape to make up a Golden Ratio?

With regard to the parts of the chapters that made sense, it transpires that Swiss Guard dude's balls are attack balls, which gives them an edge on Gyro's balls which fundamentally speaking are healing balls. The former have little satellite balls inset into them that can fly around on their own, and have the property of temporarily destroying one's perception of one's "left side" - no field of vision, no movement, not even ability to perceive the existence of the affected limbs. The name of this attack is... "Wrecking Ball". The Magenta dude's stand acts as a physical shield but I didn't catch a name.

Anyhow it turns out that Gyro had performed an operation on the Swiss Guard's blind sister, who had been carted into the Zeppelli family hospital with broken bones from falling down the stairs (somehow all this reminds me of the Kurosakis in Bleach :P). Not content with treating her immediate injury - and against his mother's advice not to overstep - Gyro attempted to fix her optic nerves as well, but his hand wasn't steady on the ball and the surgery failed. He felt guilty about it, mostly with the thought that his father could have done better, although the woman herself was happy to return to the status quo. His father merely remarks that it is impossible to know on which side a ball that hits the edge of the net will land. Tennis being the metaphor, I gather, not Gyro's balls.

Really I don't know where all this is going. XD;;

Following (at least in my mind) the Uncyclopedia article on Moe Moë linked by [livejournal.com profile] sub_divided: JOE☆STAR, part 5 version. I've garnered the impression from Youtube that Japanese JoJo fans are engaged in a one-way escalation of force against KyoAni. In future we'll see how that goes.

(P.S. did anyone see the cover to SBR volume 13 homg.)
