Characters Q&A meme
Dec. 1st, 2006 12:49 amOkay this took a million years to finish. XD The actual meme was over at carnet but I wrote too much and it's too roffle-inducing not to post in an official capacity.
1. Serizawa Reira [Nana]

6. Urahara Kisuke [Bleach]
7. Echizen Ryouma [Prince of Tennis]
8. Shibuya Yuuri [Kyou Kara Maou]
9. Aeris Gainsborough [Final Fantasy VII]
10. Fujioka Haruhi [Ouran High School Host Club]
11. Kujo Jolyne [JoJo's Bizarre Adventure]
12. Kuchiki Byakuya [Bleach]
13. Kuchiki Rukia [Bleach]
14. Fai D. Flowright [Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle]
15. Inui Sadaharu [Prince of Tennis]
youkofujima:
If Yuuri and Rukia had to go to a costume party together, what would they dress up as that would be totally out of their character?
I don't know, but it would have to be matching. Like Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa, or Batman and Catwoman, or Roger Rabbit and Jessica Rabbit.
Hikaru and Aeris are running as fast as they can down the hills of San Francisco! What are they running from? WHY?
The party got raided by the cops (ref: Kristin's question below). Alternately, the king hobo was displeased - there's no room on that street corner for an independent flower seller / board game hustler to set up business.
fabulous_papaya: Jolyne and Jotaro team up to solve a mystery! Do they work well together? What is the mystery? DOES THIS END WELL.
......You know, the first ten times I read this I thought it was Reira and Jotaro, and it basically made my week. Every time I thought about it my world grew brighter. Never mind time stop, tarot cards, steamrollers and MUDA MUDA - if you really want to envision Jotaro denied, bring in Reira.
Reira: Yoroshiku. ^_^v♥ *little flowers in background*
Jotaro: ...............
He wouldn't run. He'd just walk very fast while taking big strides and hope she can't keep up in those heels.
Whereas the real question is, well, the plot of JoJo series 6. Which I love and all, but. XD Going by which the answers to the last two parts are, "Why did I just get framed for murder?" and "Define the concepts of 'end' and 'well'."
Reira, Fai, and Urahara all had a WEIRD DREAM last night. What was each of their dreams, and whose dream content was the most Freudian?
I can picture Reira and Fai having the depressing sort of dream where you wake up knowing exactly what the imagery signified despite it being superficially obfuscatory, and are like, "Gee, thanks, subconscious! Don't know how I would've gotten through the day without another reminder of that!" But I don't know if they'd think of that as a "weird dream", per se. A "weird dream" would be more the sort of thing one rambles on about at breakfast the next morning, possibly involving celebrities, elephants, James Bond, the other members of one's party in embarrassing costumes, etc.
(I see to think of Reira and Fai as being the same general category of character? Fai would also drive Jotaro up the wall, although not as much as Reira because she is after all a GURL. Of course - but if you read both TRC and JoJo you don't need me to write this essay. XD Back to the question--)
I have no idea what Urahara would define as a weird dream, as opposed to one that wasn't. I'm uncertain he dreams at all. Maybe all he does in his sleep is have tea with Benihime. If he did dream it would be tempting to award him the Freudian award, but it's almost too easy.
one_if_by_land: Yuuko and Echizen have a secret affair. What is their token meeting place.
ROFFLE. Uh, maybe this is the universe in which Ryouma is a descendant of Clow Reed and... and... I got nothing. It'd have to be the Shop, anyway.
naanima: Wolfram and Ryouma are invited to a cooking show, both have to cook something, what would it be and why?
SON OF ROFFLE. Wolfram would insist on making something terrifyingly complex and French and Bourdainesque despite the fact that he cannot cook at all and it goes wrong almost from step one, but he would go through with it steely-eyed regardless. Ryouma would try to make Ponta from scratch using club soda, food colouring, confectioner's sugar and fizzy grape candy powder.
canis_m: ... ...Hikaru is DJing a party lol and spins selected tracks as shout-outs to Wolfram, Aeris and Jolyne, respectively. What songs are they and how do the recipients react?
Do you know these characters? XD; WHO LET SHINDOU IN THE DJ BOOTH. ...Besides I think you have the music already.
Wolfram: Amuro Namie - Don't Lie To Me
Aeris: Shimatani Hitomi - Amairo no kami no otome
Jolyne: Cabin Crew - Star to Fall (Radio Edit)
Wolfram would fireball him on principle, whereas Aeris and Jolyne would probably just, like, rock the roller rink. For some reason I picture this happening at a roller rink. Possibly illegally, at night.
(The whole point of
yuushidiaries was I noticed long ago my characters were attending cooler parties than I was.)
Reira vs. Inui: DANCE FIGHT. WHO WILL WIN?
A hard one to handicap. Reira certainly knows how to dance reasonably well. There's a 50% chance Inui cannot dance at all, and 50% chance he's AN UNSTOPPABLE DANCEFLOOR ROBOT - the probability curve is non-existent between the two poles. The question is, would Inui bet on himself?
sub_divided: Fai is falsely accused of a crime involving Rukia (actually, Inui is the criminal). At the trial, Jolyne is the prosecuting attorney and Byakuya is the defense attorney. Reira through Ryouma are on the jury and Shibuya Yuuri is the judge. What was the crime, why did Inui frame Fai, what kind of lawyers are Jolyne and Byakuya, and what's the verdict?
--*wheezes* Don't you think Jolyne should be the defense lawyer and Byakuya the prosecutor? Like, she's the spunky, scrappy former delinquent made good, now she wants to help other people who've been screwed by the system! He's Oxford-educated elite and the rising star of the prosecutor's office, an ice prince who's never lost a case and never cracked a smile! Now fate places them on a collision course, as--wait why does this sound like a romance novel blurb.
Inui frames Fai for conspiring to steal Rukia's shinigami powers. (WAIT WHAT) It makes total sense to me, I would frame Fai if he were around, I mean look at his record - look at his face - would you trust that man with your little sister for a minute? ...And Yuuri as the judge, so when the courtroom antics get truly stressful he transforms and slaps everyone down with his MAOU FIST OF SEIGI. It's crystal clear, I can see it unfolding. Verdict: let's put it to a vote guys.
Reira, Hikaru, Yuuko, Urahara, and Ryouma join the army in 2150. Who's an officer, and who's infantry? Who makes squadron leader? Who's MIA? Two of them are captured by Wolfram, Jolyne, and Rukia. Which two? How are they treated?
For some reason I can imagine Wolfram, Jolyne and Rukia in the same squadron much better than the first group, unless you think of the first group as being, uh, alternate universe M*A*S*H. With Reira as Hot Lips and Hikaru as Radar, and I guess Urahara is the camp commander. But... Yuuko would be Hawkeye? MY BRAIN.
I mean, Hakkai isn't on the list but we should honorarily have Hakkai so he can be Father Mulcahy. OK I'M GOING TO STOP NOW.
...For some reason I see Hikaru and Urahara getting captured? POW antics ensue.
Describe the Stand powers of Yuuko, Aeris, and Haruhi.
-Yuuko: can grant any wish as long as a fair price is paid. (...WHAT DO YOU EXPECT ME TO SAY.)
-Aeris: there's this thing called "Holy", see, and-- *stabbed by Sephiroth* Hey, look, Meteor is a canonical stand innit.
-Haruhi: is like that kid in the X-3 movie. Stands fail to work within a fifteen-foot radius of her. Her blood serum is the anti-Stone Arrow that turns stand users back to normal, middle-class people with regular jobs and aspirations.
worldserpent: Reira, Wolfram, and Shindou go to D's pet shop. What kind of animal do they get, and do they survive the first week?
Reira is the only one who might end up with a Special, I think. ...Really I'm just picturing the AU in which Shin is from D's shop and looks like a sparkly bishounen but is actually a caged bird that sings to soothe her troubles, and then D says something deep about canaries and mineshafts and they both die of carbon monoxide poisoning. Because face it, that would be typical of a neu!PSoH plot.
Wolfram would get the finicky exotic he requested and it would be fully as weird as any of the creatures from KKM proper but it wouldn't eat him. Shindou would get a cute puppy.
Yuuko, Rukia, and Inui are trapped on a desert island. Who is the first one to be eaten?
Basically, what this one comes down to is alliance making. My best guess is Rukia, though she would make poor eating. But it's moot really, because how do you trap Yuuko anywhere?
Fai defriends Ryouma. Why, and how does Ryouma react?
He was only there for the catblogging, which is left public. Ryouma probably never bothered to friend anyone back in the first place. XD
...And now for the, the SF/fantasy books list meme? XD;

GOOD GOD TRIPLE POST, SORRY / I have keyboard issues
Date: 2006-12-01 10:21 am (UTC)Any sinister plot with her in it becomes all the more bizarrely ... charming.
I think that is exactly what Urahara does in his sleep: spends time kickin' it with Benihime in her crimson bower. A little this, a little that. Fine sake. She never gets drunk, and still refuses to tell him the secrets of the universe, or something. She's OLD, she KNOWS STUFF. (OTOH Benihime, if she sleeps, dreams of dinner-and-a-movie dates, of walking under umbrellas, and ALSO of things no human mind would be able to grasp.)

Date: 2006-12-01 07:14 pm (UTC)You mean the essay about how KUROGANE IS JOTARO ANYWAY? XD
In the court case, Fai would be so unhelpful. When court's in session he constantly does these little things that make him seem HORRIBLY GUILTY and when he and Jolyne are alone, he refuses to give her a straight story because deep down he figures that even if he's not guilty of this particular crime, he's bound to be guilty of something. It drives Jolyne crazy because she's not sure whether he's innocent or not and her sense of justice won't allow her to defend someone who's guilty.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the courtroom, there's nonsense going on with Rukia and Byakuya because Rukia really wants Byakuya to be prosecuting to avenge her honor but everything he says tells her that it's impersonal. Rukia is also jealous of the easy antagonism between Byakuya and Jolyne, though partially this is because she wishes she were in Jolyne's position, ie, that she could talk back to Byakuya like that.
Verdict: Byakuya is winning by a landslide. Among the jurors the only dissenting vote is Hikaru's and his reason is "I don't like that guy!" (Byakuya). Yuuko and Jotaro are only observing and the rest of the jurors think Fai is guilty as hell (or don't care).
What ends up happening is that rather than prove their case in court, Jolyne and Fai investigate (independently at first, then together) and manage to figure out that Inui is the real criminal. There are a lot of plot twists and false leads in this part because Inui is a MASTER CRIMINAL. Possibly Jotaro and Yuuko help. Then Fai and Jolyne present the evidence in court in a dramatic fashion and Yuuri dismisses case. The epilogue is some kind of resolution between Rukia and Byakuya.
...
I was originally going to ask what you thought everyone's Stand powers were, I'd had two questions already and didn't want to push it. But uh, if you don't mind?

This legal drama is two thumbs up. d*^o^*b
Jotaro and Jolyne aside, everyone in Bleach essentially has stands already. >_> So that leaves Reira, Wolfram, Hikaru, Ryouma, Yuuri, Fai and Inui... I'll have to think about it. For some reason I did at one point consider Shindou Hikaru's stand, at length, but the algorithm was pretty complicated.
