I did start JoJo pt.3 last night (when I left off Our Heros were on the train from Singapore to Malaysia). Star Platinum kept reminding me of someone but I couldn't think of who it was. [1] This morning on the metro I figured it out: Kurogane out of TRC.

...It's not so much that Kurogane (whom I adore) looks like Star Platinum particularly. I mean, he does, but CLAMP's actual JoJo fanart is an endeavour roughly on par with surlykitty's Powerpuffing - they look like the originals but you can't actually say they look like the originals, if that makes sense. It's... you know that shit-eating grin he'd get sometimes as he's laying the smack down? When he's enjoying the killeration for the hell of it? This before CLAMP dragged out the War Mace of Woobiefication.

I better not see Fye in this or I'll have to do some smacking myself.

(It just niggles and niggles because over a number of series CLAMP has constructed a sort of Ideal WAFF Seme type, and it's Jotaro, basically. I assume they come up with their Abusive Semes on their own.)

Actually I spent some time looking at random Japanese sites where the fanartists basically reimagined the series as ambiguous shoujo. It was entertaining, because if you gave Part 1 a good kick in a few key areas you could actually turn the plot/characters into something Yuki Kaori would write. Part 3 could only be shounen, though, regardless of how the characters are drawn. :P

(.... omfg! This is disturbing in many ways, it is the fact that CLAMP took Jotaro and made him the WAFF seme even if he's kind of a WAFF seme, but it is like a complete different context that -makes- all the difference. Kind of.)

Ambiguous shoujo? When I read that it brings images of series such as Saiyuki. Yuki Kaori and I have a hate-hate relationship. I am biased. XP

Haha, well, there is a fairly long section of Part 3 that consists of four guys in a Jeep driving westward. XD (Jotaro of course being in charge of the "Will all of you just shut the fuck up!?" part of the dynamic. ...Kakyouin=Hakkai, Polnareff=Gojou, which leaves Joseph=Gokuu which HURTS MY SOUL but he is the spastic one. Combined with that little girl they had with them at the time in charge of being the annoying whiny brat. See, this is what happens when you put ideas into my head.)

And uh, by ambiguous shoujo I mean that I think some of these people mistake Jonathan/Dio for Harry/Draco. Except the other way around with regard to class difference and... I'll just be over here.

I wouldn't call 'not wanting to slash' a series, um, a 'problem'. (It is conversations like these when it dawns on me that yes, maybe getting into BL have permanently changed my views on life... then I get over it because the next homoerotic content filled text comes my way.)

Polnareff as Gojou... for some reason this put the fear of God in me. What about Iggy?! (I ♥ Iggy.) (But darling, I'd never presume to put thoughts into your head; I tend to trick, entice, and at times bludgeon but never -technically- put thoughts into people's head. Beside, you were making comparison between JoJo and CLAMP; that did much horrible things to my brain than you can imagine.)
