Erm, someone just posted to AMLA saying Biblos has filed for bankruptcy (this here).

o_O;;

EDIT (at an unholy hour of the morning): letter from Yamane Ayano apparently informing her ML of same, here.

This is actually one of the most surprising things I've heard, ever.

Whoa. I don't read a lot of Biblos, so I'm not really sure which unfinished serials are popular: I can only guess that there are fandoms about to explode with anxiety. (That Biblos press release is pretty hard to read -- is it saying that manuscripts were returned to the authors so that they wouldn't be seized in the bankruptcy? If so, I'm guessing that manuscripts, next-installments and rights are back with the authors and the popular series at least will be published elsewhere.)

Mhh. Emi's been saying forever on AMLA that BL companies are losing business and cutting back. I wasn't all that surprised. If indeed the trend is to novels away from manga, even less so. No ill of the dead, but Biblos published a *lot* and its output followed Sturgeon's Law rather more than it had to.
