Dec. 27th, 2005 01:33 amOh, and this. XD
Dream Cream: part of my mother's Christmas present, though the nebulous idea I had going into the store was of getting a hand cream for myself. XD I tried the other hand creams and they all seemed rather sticky, so I took the last tub of this one (it's apparently a popular product). It has a pleasant herbal scent with a strong lavender note, and my mother likes lavender.
Dream Time Balm: more lavender-scented schtuff for maternal unit. She had something like this before and said it helped for headaches. Basically it's like Tiger Balm except it smells like lavender and is supposed to send you to sleep. XD There's one in the Flying Fox jasmine scent as well.
Flying Fox: actually, I don't like this as much as the shampoo. I can't get over the impression that it smells plasticky, though I don't know if it's me or the bottle - nothing I tried in the store that day smelled right, to be honest. And is it supposed to separate? ^^; Mine looks like the several kinds of honey in it have come apart in layers, which in a jug of honey is a sign that it needs to be used up quickly. But it works well and leaves skin soft.
Champagne Snow Showers: seasonal shower jelly. Mother and sister both agreed that the stuff is nervewracking - it's the exact form and consistency of almond tofu dessert, that one is charged with rubbing over one's skin and not dropping and making it go splat because well, that handful of almond tofu costs 10$. Luckily it suds up readily, so you only need the one swipe, then back in the container it goes. (I also keep it in the freezer in the meantime, although this doesn't change the texture any.) The fragrance is also surprisingly strong - more so than Flying Fox. It lingers for hours out of the shower unless one masks it with scented lotion. Lush characterises the scent as "buck's fizz" (champagne and orange juice), which is accurate enough: citrusy and vaguely wine-like.
Karma Bath Bomb: holdover from Europe. Smells like, well, the Lush Karma scent (citrus and patchouli). Turns the water slightly orange, enough to warrant a scrub afterward, but no pyrotechnics otherwise. Not actually very strongly scented - I ran the water too hot so it was like a Turkish steam bath, but after a while I couldn't detect it at all.
I'll probably get a few more bath bombs and bubble bars (the holiday ones before they disappear). I'm planning on cocooning in January, and baths encourage me to come home early and read more. XD I finished that Mario Vargas Llosa essay collection in the bath, though I was woozy by the end.

Date: 2005-12-27 06:54 am (UTC)I've read the trick to the shower jellies is to mush a small amount into a shower pouf or glove; that way it lathers well and there's no risk of dropping the lot down the drain. (IOW, I've spent way too much time reading up on this stuff, and guess who blew every last dollar at the post-xmas sale haha? -_-)

Date: 2005-12-28 02:20 am (UTC)It would be more efficient to mush a little of the shower jelly but I actually like playing with it. XD

Date: 2005-12-28 11:38 am (UTC)The shower jellies sure looked fun from the in-store demonstration but their price tags scare me. I got one anyway. XD;
