There's nothing there at the moment. I called it Shousetsu Bang*Bang, actually, because well. Spade's a spade. Not what I'd've picked but it's by popular acclaim, and I like. The graphic design possibilities are vast, as are the stupid catchphrase possibilities. Oneshot? Two shots!

...I have to make rules. ^^; Lower bound of 1500 words and one sex scene (at least a soft R) still stands, mostly because I think one'd need at least 1500 words to write a decently descriptive sex scene to begin with. XD; No strict upper bound, but a novel is not a oneshot. Happy end rule is more like a strongly suggested guideline, because I think 95% of the oneshots I've ever read are happi endo. Wacky mangaka pseudonyms are for style points. No limit on numbers of stories submitted, if you're the sort of writer who can turn out two or three of these a week knock yourself out and know that I hate you on principle. Eventually if I start getting dozens of submissions a week like a real magazine I might start exerting some form of editorial - no, who the hell am I kidding, I'm way too lazy. No theme to begin with. Shota is okay, furry mpreg is okay, non-con orgies with elves are okay, it's all okay. Today is June 24 so the first issue will come out on August 24, and everything I receive before then will appear in said issue. Please comment here if you intend to participate, just so I know how many stories to expect. Also, join comm so I can bug you with announcements.

How to format an issue? Now that's a question. fst style, where everyone is responsible for posting their own entry within a given time period? But I do want to compile an "issue", with all the content going up at the same time, and each story has to be a separate entry because they'd have to be memoried by author afterward. Except if I post ten entries all at once, wouldn't that flood people's flists? Would people mind their flists getting flooded? Something to consider.

You could perhaps post one or two stories per day, within a certain time period? Or you could have people post the stories to their LJ or fic journals, then link to them from a post in the community?

one thing that would avoid flooding the flist is to post all the entries at once, but backdate them, and then the final post can be the "content" post of that month's issue--so like, say you have ten stories, they would all be posted first, and then there would be your post, the editor's post, going, "yay porn! this month's selection, with a theme of kitchen appliances, we have:
→ Sakurai Duckduckgoose's "Blender Factory"
→ Massage Mimi's "My Uncle's Secret Recipe"
→ Jane Toyota's "Radiation Therapy"

etc etc etc. if you're serious about people having fun names, anyway. because otherwise everyone would have to post their own porn, and that would be a sad state of affairs. XD

I--count me in ohnoes doushiyou. I wonder if the rule about R scenes might be bent (I'm not so much asking on my own behalf as, like--well, you remember Tin's jeepney driver fic? Am convinced works of genius like that should be allowed in although there was no outright smut).

Yeah, a table of contents post to alert the flists and index backdated entries would be my suggestion. If they were all backdated the same day the whole 'magazine' would come up on one day of the calender, no?

Can't backdate posts to a community. Private or custom security posts are also not allowed.

What if you set the commuinty's default security to friends only, and have members post locked entries at will? The "issue" post will link to these posts, unlocked on day of "publication". Cool in that participants get an early look, and the public sees the finished product.

Errr except that only the owner of a post can unlock it. So that could get awkward if there's anyone out of town, away from computer, etc. Hmmmm. Are you sure you don't want to make a website for this? You could link from there to commuinty entries?

hmmm.

if it's really important that it all come out at once, then as long as the energy were there, a website or a user account (as opposed to a community) would probably work best. but maybe just monthly themes would be better, with a required send-to-editor before posting?
