This would be an interesting exercise were I convinced anyone thinks like this about my stories:

Inspired by Doctor Who's "Turn Left:" Pick one of my stories and tell me a point in the tale that you'd change. Something tiny (e.g. "and then Fay chose silver glitter instead of gold") or big (e.g. "and then Rose was arrested instead of Jack") and I'll tell you how that one difference would have altered the course of the entire story.

Any story is fair game, no matter how small or ancient.

In "Midwinter," there was no tasteful fade-to-black NO WAIT that's not in the spirit of this meme is it.

private beach: instead of pausing for five minutes, tezuka goes on to describe exactly what transpired between him and fuji after he realized fuji was taking pictures of him on the beach. although i imagine the consequences would be the same because yuuta probably wouldn't be able to stomach much of that either...

It would've been a story about Ginji dancing around in his shorts like Tom Cruise and trying to get Ban to do the same with indifferent levels of success. Not all that different in terms of action, way different in terms of tone (and all the flashbacks) though. XD;

The first example is not in the spirit of the meme as it is not an event in the story that changes, merely an element of the telling. XD The second example is in the spirit of the meme but oddly enough wouldn't make a difference that I can think of, at least with regard to the story itself. It'd make a difference to the universe I guess (there are dragons in this 'verse, though, after a fashion, so...)

Dude, if Tezuka had gone on to describe exactly what happened he wouldn't be Tezuka tbh, never mind Yuuta coping. XD And this is semi- not with the meme cos if you want to know what happened between Tezuka and Fuji that's a different story, not so much something that occurs as part of the plot in this story if that makes sense.

Thinking about it in good faith, though... XD The thing with Tezuka not telling this story is, that, you know them. They went out for drinks. They caught up without actually saying anything but sort of reading into the pauses. Tezuka freaks out because subject to the kind of mentality that got him to that beach in the first place he wasn't going to be sure when Fuji left if he'd imagined the whole thing, except his external expression never changes, but he wakes up on Fuji's couch anyway, and Fuji's not even there cos he went out photographing sea turtles or something. Keep going like this for two weeks or so, you get the idea.
