Argh no it's 2AM
Jul. 29th, 2004 02:10 amPlowed through four volumes worth of MPD Psycho. Man, it's the X-Files all over again - the Truth is still Out There, and the people writing the series still have no bloody idea what it is, do they? It's all good clean fun, though. Figured I'd stop for the night when those kids sarin-gassed Comiket.
Nishizono the younger has the greatest t-shirt ever.
(Started reading this because I didn't have a horrific movie to watch tonight. Less than a week left to Fantasia; I'm starting to have thoughts along the lines of, "You know what they should do? They should make a TB/X live-ac movie and make it completely terrifying. None of this aesthetic shoujo blood.")

Date: 2004-07-29 07:48 am (UTC)Tajima Shou. Creepy mindfuck serial killer conspiracy horror. The main character is a detective/profiler who has at least half a dozen split personalities, one of which is a psychopathic killer who knows a lot more about T3h Conspiracy than the detective personality. So half the time he's trying to follow up his own trail. :D;; Lots of naked women and dead bodies (and, of course, naked dead female bodies), but the art is lovely. The scanlations are vaguely confusing and make me harken back to the Japanese; I think I'll pick up the French edition and see if it makes any more sense there.

Date: 2004-07-29 10:21 am (UTC)I get the impression that Zenitsu thinks all the other barcoders are dumb and incompetent. :D (Except possibly for Nishizono Shinji. The fact that Shinji seems to command propz from all the other psychos cracks me up. "Yeah, I have respect for him, man, respect. Except when he goes all angsty and, like, not evil! Like, what the fuck. That shit is whack, dude.") I'd be able to judge it better if, um, I had any idea what Zenitsu's trying to accomplish. Also I'd like to know if he can listen to mp3s as well as diddle his endorphin level.

Date: 2004-07-29 11:01 am (UTC)As far as I can tell, he seems pretty much under the thumb of that lady who's name I can't recall? And other than that, a general sociopath, but probably not barcoded or anything? Nerrgaw, the story kind of derailed after vol4.
Where did everyone else hear of Shinji, give that he's been in jail for x number of years, is beyond me. ^_^;; Oh well, I suppose it has to do with that mind transfer Vulcan stuff they do. And now he's a wee tyke! Aha.
Hm, you've heard of MPD Psychoco? :D

Date: 2004-07-29 11:41 am (UTC)Like... Lucy Monostone? Is Lucy a woman? ^_^;;;;;; And yeah, it was starting not to make sense at all, but maybe that's just due to lack of sleep.
I thought Shinji would come out and play during the period when he was mostly being Kobayashi-the-cop. Like, Kobayashi would get drunk and go to bed or something, and Shinji would get up during the night and run his nefarious criminal enterprises Tyler Durden style. :D
(Had not heard of MPD Psychoco. Googled it. Think 'tis greatest concept known to man. They ought to do that for everything.)
