Ahahahahahaha OMG this song is so going on the Nana FST. I usually try not to recycle tracks from the regular mp3 blogs I attend (or at least give it a decent interval), but this is way too good not to use.

Making up, breaking up, what do you care?
It's indie rock and roll for me

I've got plans. This latest iteration of interim!FST is going to be all-out multimedia. (Have fun, Kristin, it'll be here when you get back. XD) Meanwhile:

The Big Band of Rogues feat. Seiko - Go Go Mario (from Super Mario Bros.)

Yoshihiro Arita with his band - Theme of Athletic (from Yoshi's Island)

These come off Ced's Mario and Zelda Big Band live(!) album, and if your day isn't made a bit brighter by them I swear there's no help for your soul. (No, I didn't know there were lyrics to the Super Mario theme either. XD)

...have listened now. a few times. <333333

the Yoshi's Island thing doesn't mean as much to me, as i never played it. in fact, never ended up playing SNES at all, if you can believe it...cos i had a Genesis and wasn't close enough to anyone who had an SNES to really get to play. i played Earthworm Jim on SNES a few years ago, which is the ONLY time i've ever played it---[livejournal.com profile] spaz_666's brother used to have one, so i played it there. (we wish they still had it, as we'd buy it from them! XD alas, it disappeared long ago. ;.;)

but the SMB theme. <333333 had already got a half-baked idea to possibly reenact the time [livejournal.com profile] spaz_666 and i were tag-team DJing at this one party at this other party we're going to on Monday, and was coming up with things to play in my mind. this is so going with me. how's the rest of the album? i think i need to track it down. *.*;;;

Album is great fun. It's basically a concert of tunes from various Mario and Zelda games (mostly the original SMB and Ocarina of Time, but all the way up to the Gamecube games). There's like four different takes on Mario's theme: acoustic guitar, big band medley, a-cappella scat, vocals... I think the Yoshi's Island track is relatively obscure, but personally I have good memories of that one. XD

Have been meaning to ask you. Is the original Strawberry Switchblade "Since Yesterday" good? Cos the tommy february6 is brill, but I can see how the original would be equally brill as well.

if you wanna give your ska-loving br0 a heart attack, play him the Potshot cover of "Since Yesterday." XDXD the Scudelia Electro one has a warm place in my heart as well. i think personally the covers warm my heart more than the original, but. ^^;;; isnae bad...

(Also, the story behind how I first got this album was quite particular. I was searching for Shunji Iwai movies, and of course found "Arita" (the sort of monologue short featuring Hirosue Ryoko). And so looked for Arita, and Arita (Yoshi-something) turns out to be one of the people credited for the Mario & Zelda band live CD! The Scat version of the Mario Bros theme is priceless.)

You were saying yesterday that you wanted me to upload somewhere specific? Or something for Haysen? I didn't quite catch. What was that? ^^;

No, I thought Hayson/Cammy/Talal/whoever could benefit from your collection of anime/manga/schtuff if you gave me stuff that I'd put online on Tacos, but would basically mean you have to give it to me somehow. :\

Err, and it's kinda security-sketchy to allow people to upload stuff on servers and I still don't know how to do it anyways ^_^.

In any case. You should get high-speed, and run your own webserver at home. :P

(HaysOn, it's HaysOOOOn.)
