The reason I have to keep watching Kyou Kara Maou, in one word:

SPORKS.

It's a fantasy anime about bishounen who hit on each other and eat with fancy sporks. In other words, if I'm not going to watch this I may as well give up Livejournal, because what's fangirl blogging but bishounen and sporks? This strikes at the very core of fandom, j0.

...How does one say "spork" in Japanese?

***

1. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - All Tomorrow Parties (It's a cover of Velvet Underground, of course. *g*)
2. Bonnie Pink - Meddler (The entire album is in English...)
3. Hamasaki Ayumi - We Wish
4. The Church - Under The Milky Way
5. Vinicius De Moraes - Carta ao Tom 74 (I'll upload this sometime)
6. Juanes - A dios le pido (Love this song, didn't expect anyone else to get it)
7. Kanno Yoko - After, In The Dark ~Torch Song~ (Haha, guess no one was hardcore geeky enough to flash on the fact that the lyrics aren't in a real language *is shot*)
8. Onitsuka Chihiro - Ibara no umi
9. Hawksley Workman - We Will Still Need A Song
10. Kunihiko Hari - Shihouka (From Juuni Kokki Image Album)
11. Tommy february6 - CAndY EyEs doLLS (This is from the new album, thus unfamiliar, but I wondered if anyone would stick their neck out anyway - it's such a classic Tommy lyric)
12. The Cure - Kyoto Song
13. Franz Ferdinand - The Dark Of The Matinee (If no one called this one there'd have been mocking XD)
14. Kylie Minogue - On A Night Like This
15. Delerium - A Poem For Byzantium
16. Faye Wong - Chesspiece
17. Heather Nova - Aquamariac
18. Felix da Housecat w/ Miss Kittin - Madame Hollywood
19. Massive Attack - Better Things
20. Garbage - Hammering In My Head

Everyone mostly got what I thought they'd get; amusingly there was very little overlap. *g* I think I'm going to shuffle the tracks a bit and turn it into a proper mix, it's representative enough.

...so, I normally would not do so, because I work at a music chain (well, media chain), but... well, when I learned there was a new Heather Nova CD I rushed to the work computers on my next day in to go checking up on it, and we can't get it -- I'm assuming it's not out in the US yet. So I'm going to have to beg for more MP3s, because I'm a shameless addict -- own every other album of hers I've been able to get my paws on, i.e. everything I'm aware of except for Glowstars.

Also, I am ashamed I didn't get the Delerium song, and I did wonder wtf #7 was. I was thinking maybe something Scandinavian, only that didn't look right either.

Ah? *googles* Huh, it's not. o_O Okay, then! Hopefully you'll like it. I do, but I wasn't too fond of her last two albums. ^^; It's very acoustic; the track I posted has comparatively complex production.

South and... as far back as Siren, or am I forgetting one? *ponders* Kinda indifferent on South myself.

And I adore You Left Me a Song, and a looksee at the lyrics was what (aside from the fact that I would have anyway) sent me madly looking for Storm, so I expect I will.

Man, Heather Nova was such a random find, too -- an honest to goodness wild success of the listening station concept. I randomly had a listen to Oyster in the local Newbury Comics, and liked it so much that I dragged my ex over and made him listen to it too, and we promptly bought it. At the time, I was calling about half the songs for X-Files. Now I have several of them on my YnM soundtrack. ;)
