Burning anime off the hard drive again, in order to make way for the quadzillion eps of Prince of Tennis (my mum's watching them on the computer as well, so they'll stay there for a while ^^;). So there went Initial D, except as I was burning and spotchecking the spotchecks grew gradually longer and longer, until I gave up, accepted that I needed help and re-watched all of 86 vs. FC. Oh, the love. *makes an exhaust trail of little hearts in the air* One of the great duels of sports shounen. For my elastic definition of sports shounen that also includes Hikaru no Go, mind you, but a true self-contained classic. ...Why have I never tried to sl0re this series properly? Or did I do so and fail back when my fu was of little note? I wish it had a juggernaut ficcing fandom like TeniPuri. For that I'd even live with the seme-uke wars. (And there would be, is the worst thing. The Japanese fen itself was nearly at war over the sexual proclivities of Saint Ryousuke**, though of course it was a cold war and not war at all by Western fen standards.)

Right! Time to go grab those last couple manga tankoubons then. I was waiting for it to up and bite me on the arse again, knowing somewhere inside that it would.

You Got Game and Rage Your Dream are the same song. ...Well, okay, not really, but they start off the same and you can sing one over the other if you like. Also, Taka-san is actually Mako. Thank you and have a good night.

Sain Ryousuke. I like that, it somehow suit him ^___^ And the 86 vs. FC is one of the better duels of sports shounen. I watched it on a large screen at an anime club, and the LOVE, the LOVE *hearts*

indeed, that battle's got such an interesting tension to it. it's not like the 86 vs the EG6, wherein you'd want the 86 to win no matter what just cos Shingo's such a cheating, whinging brat. he could take lessons in at least being an entertaining brat from Keisuke, f'rinstance. XD

have you seen IniD Battle Stage? >D

You know, I don't think I have? I've seen (own) all three stages and even the Mako-centric OAV thingie in which Nakazato stares at Sayuki's boobs (you can tell what amused me in all this), but not that one.

It's just funneh because... well. If the mangaka were female I'd say she totally had the hots for Ryousuke. As it is I don't know what Shigeno's excuse is. XD Oh, what I need to do is post mp3s/tracklisting of my soundtrack for hypothetical Fourth Stage! Ufufufufu.

Battle Stage is great, cos it's just basically all the battles from the anime, only the CG work is all redone and looks REALLY nice. there's also an option wherein you can turn off the dialogue and just listen to the music and hear and watch the cars racing. mmm, animated car pr0n. <3333

would be curious to see what your ST looks like, and even moreso what it sounds like. XD also, have you gotten the chance to play/had the interest in playing the IniD Arcade Stage game? i may be misremembering, but i seem to recall awhile ago that one of the only machines in North America was located somewhere in Montreal, is all. XD

Wanna see... T_T And I'll go and get the manga this evening, just so I can check the scene cues.

Try three of the machines. (And where did you hear that? XD;;) They're in one of the big arcades on St.Catherine. I've never actually tried that one, as I have illogical ph33r of looking like a dork in front of all the Azn ricebois who hang there - same reason I don't DDR - but Tania played it quite a bit. She even has a memory card for it. XD It looks fun, pretty much what you'd expect.

it's highly entertaining. part of what i love about the anime is the extra heightened sense of dorama provided by the announcer. in this, you get all these cut screens announcing each battle with the announcer (the same one who would say 'INITIAL D' at the eyecatches in the TV series) going "AE86 vs. SilEighty," f'rinstance. unfortunately, no previews ending in "DON'T MISS IT!!!" (which was my other favourite), but we can't all be winners all the time, can we? XD definitely, you need this. <3 had i a high speed connection and a way to encode, i'd probably share. XD

the info i had on the Arcade Stage machines was quite some time ago. at the time, i think i only knew of one in Montreal and two in a couple places in California (shock). now there's actually one here, at a game place called Dave & Buster's which is about 15 minutes away from our house. or at least, it was there. don't know if it still is. we were waiting to get in when [livejournal.com profile] spaz_666's brother could get us in for free, mostly cos the whole problem we have with D&B is that they're a huge arcade that's 21+ only. there are other gaming options around here now, but there weren't many for awhile, so it was REALLY cruel of them to exist and have all these games we couldn't play because we were underage. residual bitterness makes us stay away, or at least try to not give them more money than we have to. XD

oh, yes, where the info came from. XD forget where it is, but upon finding out about Arcade Stage's existence via the game company's page (now i can't remember who did it, even, although i'm thinking Sega and i don't know that that's right), i went looking all over for info on it and found some IniD page that was asking for peoples' help in gathering info on where the machines were located, and had a whole map set up of machine locations around the world. ^^;;; the memory cards sounded interesting, too. i think there's something like 6 designs...? wanna play, although i'm quite sure as with most driving games, shall look like a complete tard. also why i haven't DDRd in public, although i'd like to. need to get home unit to practice. XD
